5 interesting things that could happen on Raw & SmackDown this week

There's only a month to Goldberg's return!

Last week, WWE continued to build towards the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, and give us a few segments and matches which have surely gotten us excited for the big event.

Raw delivered a punch as we watched AJ Styles attack Seth Rollins in a manner we’ve never seen before. Apart from that, there was a tag team match set up between the four individuals who have been picked for the Money in the Bank ladder match for the event.

SmackDown Live, on the other hand, saw Kofi Kingston lay out a challenge to Kevin Owens which has us all excited for the big match. How will KO react to Kingston’s aggression this week remains to be seen.

This week, we expect WWE to go one more step further to make the storylines even more interesting. In this article, we will look at the 5 things that could happen on the two main shows which will accelerate the build towards the MITB pay-per-view.

#5 A superstar joins Bray Wyatt

With Bray Wyatt back on television after a long hiatus, the WWE Universe is buzzing with his new gimmick and what to expect in the future.

Playing as what seems like a Children’s show host, Wyatt has brought forward an interesting segment called the Firefly Fun House.

Even though the gimmick seems to have a lot of potential, it will take a lot of creativity to bury Wyatt’s previous gimmick which made him extremely popular.

Wyatt usually works better in a team or a stable as previously noted from his work in the Wyatt Family and the Deleter of Worlds. Keeping that in mind, we can expect WWE to hand him a few underutilized superstars to use in the gimmick and further improve.

Will we see a superstar join Bray Wyatt in the Firefly Fun House? Superstars such as Matt Hardy, Liv Morgan, Luke Harper, and Nikki Cross can all make great additions to the team!

#4 Havoc in the Six-Woman Tag Team Match

With Money in the Bank on the horizon, WWE has all cylinders firing to try and make up as many different storylines as possible for the big event.

With the woman’s Money in the Bank ladder match set, we will witness a six-woman tag team match on the blue brand this week.

Bayley, Carmella and Ember Moon (all three of which will be in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match) will take on Charlotte Flair (who is facing off against Becky Lynch for the SmackDown Women’s Title at WWE Money in the Bank), Mandy Rose (also in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match) and Sonya Deville (who asked Mandy to take the spot in the Ladder Match).

Will we see a definite end to the match, or will it be marred by interference or turns? Will Sonya Deville finally turn on her friend Mandy Rose to make a point and go solo in search on the top title? Or will we see Becky Lynch destroy all six women to send a message to Charlotte Flair, Lacey Evans, and the entire WWE Universe?

#3 AJ Styles turns full heel

What caused AJ Styles to go over?
What caused AJ Styles to go over?

There was surely something different about the AJ Styles who showed up at last week’s contract signing for the Universal Title Match contract signing.

The man did not seem like his usual self, and his recent promos had been showing a change in his behavior and attitude.

After the contract signing, Styles surprised everyone by attacking Seth Rollins and then delivering a Phenomenal Forearm that left The Beastslayer flat between the table.

Will Styles once again show his dark side this week and turn full heel before the money in the bank match between the two superstars? It seems likely as Styles hasn’t been a heel for some time now, and his actions could help make the MITB match even more exciting.

With a babyface Universal Champion and a heel challenger, Raw will finally have something fresh and new on their hands which could help their ratings.

#2 SmackDown Tag Team Championship & Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns has fought in numerous handicap matches!
Roman Reigns has fought in numerous handicap matches!

Last week on SmackDown, the tag team division suffered a major blow, due to Jeff Hardy sustaining a knee injury at the hands of Lars Sullivan, The Hardy Boyz had to relinquish the SmackDown Tag Team Titles.

While SmackDown Live is filled with some talented tag teams who could carry the torch forward, Shane McMahon will show up this Tuesday to crown new SmackDown Tag Team Champions.

Even though it is possible that Shane will simply announce his favorite heel team as the new champions, or announce a tournament for the night to crown the new champions, it is possible he would like to have some fun with it.

Since Shane is already in a rivalry against Roman Reigns, he could announce a handicap gauntlet match for Reigns against three or four tag teams of SmackDown, with the team who pins Roman Reigns walking away with the titles.

#1 Goldberg appears

Will security be on high alert for Goldberg?
Will security be on high alert for Goldberg?

Goldberg has been confirmed to have a match at the June 7 event to be held in Saudi Arabia.

With no build-up, the match won’t have as much flare as it can if Goldberg makes an appearance or too similar to Batista before he took on Triple H at WrestleMania 35.

At this point, Goldberg would have a few superstars on his radar with whom he can go head to head in order to please the WWE Universe in Saudi Arabia.

Will Goldberg go after a veteran such as Triple H, The Undertaker, or Randy Orton? It seems very likely as we have seen fans in Saudi Arabia prefer stars of yesterday as compared to the stars of today.

However, with the rise in popularity of stars like Lars Sullivan and Drew McIntyre, we could witness a match between two powerhouses of different generations.

Will the appear this week on SmackDown Live or Raw to hunt down his competitor for the big event? It seems likely as a storyline build will make things even bigger!
