5 Interferences to look out for at Survivor Series 2018

Survivor Series could turn out to be a classic!

Survivor Series 2018 has some great matches lined up for the WWE Universe, but little has been done to build hype around the matches on the card.

It can be said that only the matches between the women of the WWE have some story behind them, while the men have failed to build any real hype for their matches.

Even for the women, only Becky Lynch succeeded in first building hype for her match with Ronda Rousey, which later had to be changed, and she also led an invasion of RAW with the other women of SmackDown which have built up something for the 5-on-5 elimination match between Team Raw and Team SmackDown.

However, in the background, other storylines have built very well and could play a significant role in the entire event. While many top wrestlers haven’t been booked for the event, it is possible that they will play some role or the other in the high-profile matches.

Let’s take a look at 5 wrestlers who could interfere in the matches in some way or the other in order to influence the results. While not all matches will be marred by interference from the outside, it is possible that one or two matches will suffer due to it.

#5 Mandy Rose

Will she build on her actions?
Will she build on her actions?

Hamburgers, famously known as Mandy Rose, first rose to fame as a part of the trio called Absolution. The other two members of the faction included Paige and Sonya DeVille, and the three seemed to be a potent team on the main roster.

However, Paige suffered an injury which led to the team of Mandy Rose and Sonya DeVille to go into the big world on their own, and slowly got lost on SmackDown as many other talented women on the brand were doing a better job.

While picking the five women for Team SmackDown, Paige announced the name of Sonya DeVille, and later announced the last pick, Charlotte Flair. However, Mandy Rose walked out to the middle instead of Charlotte and demanded a place on the team as she thought she was better than a few other women in the ring.

A brawl broke out, and Mandy Rose and DeVille stood face to face after Rose reminded DeVille that she was the one who eliminated her from the Women’s Battle Royal.

Now it’s almost certain that the two women will break up their team and go face to face sooner than later, and there remains a possibility that the last step to their rivalry build will be Rose causing DeVille to get eliminated in the 5-on-5 match.

#4 The Big Show

Big Show will be by The Bar's side
Big Show will be by The Bar's side

One of the biggest matches announced for the event is between the Tag Team champions of the two main brands. Authors of Pain and The Bar will go head to head in what could be the show stealer.

The Big Show surprised everyone by turning heel, once again, and helping The Bar win the SmackDown Tag Team Championship from The New Day. Since then, The Big Show has been moving around with The Bar without any rhyme or reason.

As the Authors of Pain are extremely dominating, they surely hold an edge over the veteran team of Cesaro and Sheamus. It’s likely that the Big Show will need to assist The Bar once again to help them try and win the match.

AoP will have Dave Maverick by their side, and it’s unlikely that he will take part in the action unless it requires taking a Chokeslam from the big man. Other than that, get ready to see a Knockout Punch from the Big Show to one of the members of AoP.

#3 Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose could very well ruin Seth's day

Dean Ambrose’s heel turn shocked almost the entire WWE Universe. Even though the seeds had been sowed, and the fans were waiting for the right moment, no one was prepared when it actually happened.

While WWE hit the panic button to turn Ambrose heel, it worked out extremely well and the timing helped him establish himself as a greater heel without much effort.

Seth Rollins and Shinsuke Nakamura are all set to take on each other at Survivor Series in an Intercontinental Champion vs United States Champion match. Dean Ambrose, however, is not booked in any match for the event.

Many speculated that Ambrose would attack Rollins at Crown Jewel during the World Cup tournament, but the same didn’t happen and even when Ambrose was reported to be backstage at the event, he did not come out to the arena.

Survivor Series is a different story as we have seen Ambrose build on the rivalry between the two men and Rollins continuously stating that his focus would be on the match with Nakamura and also on Ambrose.

Therefore, it is likely that Dean Ambrose will come out to at least distract The Architect during the match, even though Ambrose has not interfered in any matches involving Rollins since turning heel.

#2 Randy Orton

How is he not on Team SmackDown?
How is he not on Team SmackDown?

Mr. Survivor Series will not be a part of Survivor Series this year. Or officially at least.

While Randy Orton has a tremendous record in traditional Survivor Series matches, it’s surprising to see him not be a part of the event. That includes not being picked as a replacement to Daniel Bryan on the team.

With that said, he’s currently on a path to attack crowd favorite superstars and did an extremely good job at dismantling Jeff Hardy. Since then we have seen him attack Rey Mysterio on more than one occasion, and even RKO The Miz.

Now it is possible that he will interfere in the traditional 5-on-5 elimination match at Survivor Series to either attack Rey Mysterio again or Shane McMahon for not picking him for the team. Rest assured that his interference will likely cost SmackDown the match as he builds on his heel character, or he can be used as a set-up by Shane to attack Team Raw while Shane turns heel himself too.

#1 Becky Lynch

The Man has some unfinished business
The Man has some unfinished business

Becky Lynch was part of the most awaited Survivor Series match against Ronda Rousey. It was the only match that had any real buildup and had the potential to headline the show.

Unfortunately, Lynch suffered a broken nose and a concussion at the hands of Nia Jax in a brawl when SmackDown’s women’s roster invaded Monday Night Raw last week.

The brawl increased the value of the feud to greater heights, but completely dropped it the next night when fans found out that Becky would not be cleared for the match. Becky handpicked Charlotte to replace her in the match against Ronda Rousey, setting up another dream match for the fans.

Since the buildup to the original match was so huge, it is unlikely that WWE will let this slip through their hands and die down at this point. Becky’s interference in the match is almost certain and could be because of two reasons.

Either she will interfere to try and help Charlotte win the match, or actually beat down Charlotte to let Ronda Rousey win, coming out as a bigger heel who wants to be the first woman to beat Ronda Rousey.

Either way, a bigger match can be set up by the WWE for the future which can most likely take place at WrestleMania 35.
