5 last-minute changes WWE can make at Crown Jewel 2019

Will 'The Undertaker' appear at the PPV?
Will 'The Undertaker' appear at the PPV?

WWE Crown Jewel 2019 is set to commence in a few hours. At the upcoming pay-per-view. we will witness Brock Lesnar defend the WWE Championship against his long-term rival, Cain Velasquez.

Seth Rollins and The Fiend will lock horns for the Universal Championship in the hopes of redeeming their rivalry following the unsatisfactory end to their Hell in a Cell match.

In a historic announcement, WWE also confirmed that Natalya and Lacey Evans will trade blows inside the squared circle in the first-ever Women's match showcased in the kingdom.

We will also see top tag teams from both divisions compete in the Tag Team Turmoil match to determine who is the 'Best in the World'.

Although most of the match card has been revealed, WWE can pull off last-minute changes to surprise the WWE Universe. In this list, we take a look at a few things that might be added to the PPV.

#5 Confirm The Undertaker’s appearance on the show

As long as he is not forced to wrestle...
As long as he is not forced to wrestle...

As per reports, The Undertaker was announced only for the Crown Jewel parade. Every year WWE tends to build the show around The Deadman in an attempt to gain maximum attention. Fortunately, this time around, The Undertaker will not be wrestling at the pay-per-view.

However, that may not stop WWE from having the legendary Superstar make an appearance during the pay-per-view. WWE might have The Undertaker cut yet another cryptic promo or have him bury a Superstar in a short segment.

Although The Undertaker isn’t advertised for the PPV, he was certainly there to promote the upcoming event.

WWE creatives have been widely criticized for booking The Undertaker in unflattering segments in recent times. Maybe WWE would prefer keeping his appearance a surprise to avoid massive backlash from the fans ahead of the PPV.

#4 Have Becky Lynch/Charlotte Flair appear at the PPV

Make way for The Man!
Make way for The Man!

So far, WWE have confirmed just one Women’s match at Crown Jewel which will witness Natalya and Lacey Evans locking horns. This match will bear monumental significance in the history of pro-wrestling in Saudi Arabia.

Given the political scenario, women were not expected to perform at the PPV. However, the above-mentioned match may just allow WWE to bring out one of their most celebrated Superstars in the women’s division.

WWE can have RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch or 10-time Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair appear at the PPV. They may not necessarily be a part of any match, but they can definitely get some time inside the squared circle to address the fans.

Both these female Superstars enjoy a massive fan-following and would be the safest bet for WWE to draw more positive attention towards the female Superstars in the company.

Charlotte recently teased an alliance with Natalya. Therefore, The Queen may make a brief appearance and help her ‘friend’ win the historic match.

#3 Add ‘No DQ’ stipulation to Mansoor vs Cesaro

Cesaro vs Mansoor could be epic if risky stipulations are added to their match
Cesaro vs Mansoor could be epic if risky stipulations are added to their match

Cesaro is one of the best Superstars on the current WWE main roster. Unfortunately, he doesn’t get nearly as many chances as he deserves. Despite proving his worth time and again, Cesaro is often overlooked in the absence of his tag team partner, Sheamus.

At Crown Jewel, he is set to face Mansoor who fights and wins only at the PPVs set in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. By default, he is expected to win against Cesaro.

Thus, the only way in which WWE can make this match more interesting is by adding a compelling stipulation.

If the 'No Disqualification' stipulation is added to the match between Cesaro and Mansoor, it will help the creatives in presenting a more interesting bout.

The 'No DQ' stipulation will enable both Superstars to deliver a better match that carries an engrossing narration despite the predictable result. It could also end up helping Mansoor in convincing the authorities that he deserves a better shot at proving himself and need not be limited to filler segments in region-specific PPVs.

#2. Determining the #1 contender for Intercontinental Championship

A new challenger?
A new challenger?

The WWE Intercontinental Championship will not be defended at Crown Jewel as Shinsuke Nakamura will be competing in Team Hogan vs Team Flair. He is a member of the second team alongside Randy Orton (c), Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, and Drew McIntyre.

But due to the limited number of matches confirmed for the PPV, there’s a chance that WWE will announce a match to determine the No. 1 contender for the IC title at the event.

During the kick-off show, we will see 20 men competing in the Battle Royale to fight for a shot at the United States Championship. The winner will then go up against AJ Styles in an attempt to capture the US Title.

However, the PPV match card has no booking that features any SmackDown mid-card talent. WWE might just announce an impromptu match between two Superstars to determine Nakamura’s next challenger and will look to blend it in the Champion’s ongoing storyline with Daniel Bryan.

#1 Have The Miz replace someone in Battle Royal

Clearly, The Miz is awesome!
Clearly, The Miz is awesome!

AJ Styles is set to defend his United States Championship at Crown Jewel against the winner of the 20-man Battle Royal. Humberto Carrillo is expected to overcome nineteen other Superstars to get a shot at The Phenomenal One’s title.

It may not be too far-fetched for WWE to end up replacing one of the Superstars in the Battle Royal with none other than The Miz. The last time he was a part of Crown Jewel, The Miz suffered an injury and was replaced by Shane McMahon.

He lost his shot at winning the ‘Best in the World’ trophy and went on to feud with Shane on the Blue brand. It would be almost poetic to have The Miz replace an 'injured' Superstar in the Battle Royal and win an opportunity to go up against AJ Styles later that night.

Even if The Miz fails to win the title, it will allow the WWE Creatives to include a deserving Superstar in a meaningful segment. And who knows, maybe this one-off encounter will turn into a full-fledged rivalry on the Red brand.
