Between 2009 and 2014, McIntyre enjoyed his time in the WWE fighting at both the mid-card and at the upper level. He achieved quite a bit, which many new wrestlers in the company have failed to achieve and feuded with greats such as Edge, Christian, and Finlay.

McIntyre was a one-time Intercontinental Champion and one-time WWE Tag Team Champion with the WWE during his first tenure, and his Tag Team Championship win came with Cody Rhodes by his side.

After being released from WWE, McIntyre enjoyed a lot of success on the Independent circuit and with Evolve and TNA wrestling, where he achieved so much in very little time. He won both the promotion's top championships in no time.

This led to his resigning with the WWE in 2017 where he was reintroduced but as a part of the development brand NXT. It didn’t take him long to become the NXT Champion with the brand and became the first wrestler to win the championship who had appeared on the main roster before.

Later, he lost the championship to Almas and was sidelined due to an injury. The injury did wonders for him, as his return made him re-debut on the main roster as Dolph Ziggler’s partner on RAW. This gave him a huge push and made him come to the spotlight once again, putting him on a path of greatness.

Ziggler and McIntyre went on to win the Raw Tag Team Championship, making McIntyre a two-time tag champion, and he is now on his way to the top of Raw with potential Universal Championship shots in his sight.

Even though Mcintyre has become a crowd favourite wrestler and heel in no time, there is still quite a lot you may not know about him. Let’s take a look at 5 little-known facts about the Scottish Psychopath.

This may not come as a surprise to many as most WWE stars have managed to get across college and even university, but McIntyre is actually very well educated.

The wrestler was born Andrew McLean Galloway IV on June 6, 1985, in Scotland’s Ayr, Prestwick, South Ayrshire. He attended the Prestwick Academy from where he proceeded to the Glasgow Caledonian University where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Criminology. Criminology is known to be a very tough subject in the UK.

While growing up, Drew played football as a defender and was good at it. He exhibited great skill and passion for the ball game, that many expected that he would become a professional soccer player.

“At school, I was your normal footballing guy, but behind closed doors, I was trying to find out the secrets of wrestling. I was a bit of a wrestling geek, really.” McIntyre has revealed.

“I always said I was going to work for the WWE or play for Glasgow Rangers. As I got older I was still playing football but I realized, when I was about 14, that I wanted to give wrestling a try.”
