This week's episode of Monday Night Raw came live from Chicago, Illinois. The road to WrestleMania is on and the showcase of immortals is just weeks away from surfacing. The WWE Universe is all geared up as they await the 35th edition of WWE's biggest PPV- WrestleMania.

Monday Night Raw has been stupendous for the past couple of weeks as the WWE Creative have captured the attention of the fans worldwide with their enticing storylines. The fans have been talking all about it on the social media as they were treated by scintillating moments week after week on Raw.

With that being said, much was expected of this week's edition of Raw but it probably didn't turn out to be entirely astonishing. The Show had its share of ups and downs, but nothing really spectacular happened this Monday night!

Here are 5 major let-downs from this past week's episode of Raw:

#5 No Brock Lesnar brawl

When Brock Lesnar was scheduled to appear on Raw, there were expectations of some action. The Beast is a hot commodity and does not show up every now and then but when he does, he makes the WWE universe go berserk! Brock showed up on Raw after quite some time now as the last time we saw the beast on the red brand was at the post-royal rumble telecast where Rollins challenged him for the title and became the recipient of 6 devastating F5s.

The beast incarnate is known to indulge in a brawl every now and then, something the ardent WWE fans simply love to see. The WWE enthusiasts would’ve expected the Beast to have some kind of action on Raw but Brock wasn’t up for it as what we got was another brilliant Paul Heyman segment with Brock alongside.

When Rollins entered the ring with a steel chair, Brock ducked out to avoid a fight, something we aren’t used to!

#4 It won’t be a Monster Mania!

When you look back at 2018, it was all about the monster among men on Raw. Braun Strowman was literally the hottest thing around and the WWE Universe was extremely delighted upon witnessing Strowman’s portrayal of strength every now and then.

From monster handling legends to flipping tucks, from winning the briefcase at MITB to winning the greatest Royal Rumble, The monster was on his way to the top.

Unfortunately for Braun and for WWE Universe, things have slowed down for the former member of the Wyatt Family.

The monster seems to have hit a rough patch and the most disturbing thing about this rough patch is the timing! WrestleMania is undoubtedly the biggest event of the company and it’s no secret that legends are born at Mania. Braun’s run in 2017 and 18 was impressive and WrestleMania 35 should’ve something colossal in store for Braun but with the monster recently claiming that he’ll be entering the Andre The Giant Battle royal, expect to see him thrown by some upcoming star!

#3 Kurt Angle’s final opponent announcement

Kurt Angle is one of the most decorated WWE Superstars of all time. The Olympic hero is a Hall of Famer and has his name written all over the history books.

Last week, when Angle announced about his decision to hang up his boots and have one last match which shall be his retirement match, at WrestleMania 35.

The fans worldwide started anticipating as to who might face Angle in his retirement match and many exciting names popped up. John Cena was one owing to the fact that the leader of Cenation had his first major feud with Angle.

But the WWE had all sorts of a different plan for Angle's retirement match as Kurt announced Baron Corbin as his opponent at WrestleMania. Kurt's announcement didn't really entice the WWE universe!

No disrespect to Baron Corbin but Angle is a legend and deserves an iconic match to end his career with the company. A match with John Cena would've been heartily accepted though!

#2 Aged Animal

Dave Batista
Dave Batista

Hey, do you remember Batista from 2005? Yes, the man who terrorised the entire roster with his brute strength and the will to fight anyone, anytime! The Animal was a fearsome opponent back in his day as Dave was never the one to back down from a fight. The former world champ has battled some of the greats in the game and has successfully beaten many.

Fast forward to 2019 and what do we have in front of us? A man giving conferences, interview via satellite, sitting in his office. The WWE Universe isn’t used to that kind of animal. The fans anticipated Batista to return as the wrecking machine he used to be but to the displeasure of millions watching, this animal seems to have aged down and is no more the force we all cheered for back in the day.

What the fans would've heartily accepted was a confrontation between Triple H and Batista, but the WWE Creative opted for an Interview via satellite.

#1 The hounds of Justice weren’t around

The Shield
The Shield

Last week Drew McIntyre brutally assaulted Roman Reigns before giving Dean Ambrose a vicious beating. Well, things did turn out to be mighty promising for Drew but for the hounds of justice, not so much.

The Shield is no stranger to beatdowns and what they claim every now and then, ‘Brotherhood’! Speaking of the shield, 2 formidable members in the name of Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose were nowhere to be found on Raw this week.

Brock Lesnar was expected to return and a shield moment up against the beast or say a shield special to dispute the Scottish psychopath would’ve rocked the arena but the WWE Creative had other plans as the absence of two of the biggest stars on the red brand didn’t sit well with the fans worldwide.

Seth Rollins is set to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania in what is the biggest fight of his career and the architect needs to get this feud to get hot in order to draw the WWE Universe’s precious attention because as of now it seems like the fans are a bit tired of Brock Lesnar’s tantrums!
