WWE Royal Rumble is quite possibly the most exciting match in all of sports entertainment. The bout usually lasts more than an hour and is an absolutely chaotic affair from beginning to end. The Royal Rumble event is more than three decades old and has given the WWE Universe some of the greatest moments in the company's history.

In 2018, WWE added a Women's Royal Rumble match to the card, as a part of the Women's Revolution. The match was won by Asuka, who went on to compete for the SmackDown Women's title at WrestleMania 34. Ever since then, WWE has been presenting two Royal Rumble matches every year at the namesake event.

Here's Nia Jax talking about her Men's Royal Rumble appearance:

“I didn’t know about that till the show started. We were preparing for the Women’s Royal Rumble and we were rehearsing in the ring and whatnot when someone said Johnny Ace needs to talk to you and I couldn’t find Johnny, and then someone said Vince needs to talk to you, and I couldn’t find Vince. It was a crazy day, right? And I was wondering, ‘Gosh, what did I do? I must be in trouble?’ Okay so let me just keep going and rehearsing.’ The doors are opening, the show’s started, we are all getting ready. Then finally Johnny Ace finds me, and he was like, ‘Nia, you know you’re in the men’s Rumble right?’ I said, ‘What? No, you’re kidding right?’ He’s like, ‘No you’re in the Men’s Rumble.’”

For years on end though, we saw women enter the Men's Royal Rumble and have impressive showings in the match. In the following list, we will take a look at five male WWE Superstars, who were thrown out of the Royal Rumble match by female Superstars.

#5 Chyna eliminates Mark Henry in the 1999 Royal Rumble match

Mere days before the 1999 Royal Rumble event, WWE held a Corporation vs. DX mini-Rumble on an episode of RAW, with the winner bagging the No. 30 spot in the annual free-for-all. In the end, it was Chyna who came out victorious and thus became the very first woman to enter the Royal Rumble match. At the event, Chyna came out to the ring and immediately targeted Mark Henry. She proceeded to make quick work of Henry and hit several forearm shots to the behemoth.

Chyna didn't even last a minute in the Royal Rumble

Chyna then threw Henry over the top rope, to a huge reaction from the WWE Universe. She didn't manage to do much in the match though, as she was thrown out of the ring by Stone Cold Steve Austin, with the help of a Clothesline.

Chyna lasted 35 seconds in the match, and those few moments were enough for her to eliminate the biggest athlete in the Royal Rumble. Although this was the very first time a woman entered the Royal Rumble match, it certainly wasn't going to be the last.

#4 Chyna eliminates Chris Jericho in the 2000 Royal Rumble match

By the time the 2000 Royal Rumble came around, Chris Jericho had become a mainstay in WWE. He was involved in a feud with Chyna and Hardcore Holly, heading into the Royal Rumble. At the event, Jericho defeated Chyna and Holly in a Triple Threat match for the Intercontinental title. Unfortunately for Jericho, Chyna wasn't happy one bit at how things turned out in the match. She decided to take it all out on Jericho, in the Royal Rumble match.

Chyna has competed in two Royal Rumble matches

In the Royal Rumble, Chyna came in at No. 17, minutes after Jericho did. Much like what happened between Chyna and Henry the year prior, she attacked Jericho upon entering the ring and eliminated him from the match. This time around as well, Chyna didn't last long and was out of the match in 38 seconds. She was thrown out of the ring by Big Boss Man, who in turn was eliminated by The Rock. This was it for Chyna's run as a Royal Rumble competitor, and she would never compete in the annual free-for-all again.

#3 Beth Phoenix eliminates The Great Khali in the 2010 Royal Rumble match

The 2010 Royal Rumble match kicked off with Dolph Ziggler and Evan Bourne, but it was entrant No. 3 CM Punk, who impressed fans with his work in the match. Punk kept throwing every competitor out in quick succession, and it looked like he would somehow manage to win it all. When Beth Phoenix came in a No. 6, she set her sights on The Great Khali, who ordered her to leave the ring immediately. Phoenix planted a kiss on Khali, which threw him off-guard enough for her to eliminate him.

Beth Phoenix went toe to toe with CM Punk in the Royal Rumble

Moments after, Phoenix targeted CM Punk and began brawling with him. Fans cheered in unison, as Phoenix unleashed on Punk and almost threw him out of the ring. Unfortunately, Punk got out of her clutch and proceeded to hit her with a devastating GTS. Following the move, Beth Phoenix fell down on the ring, in an unconscious state. All Punk needed to do now was to pick her up and throw her out of the ring, and that's exactly what he did. Phoenix was one of five Superstars Punk threw out of the Royal Rumble match that night before he was eliminated from the match by Triple H.

#2 Kharma eliminates Hunico in the 2012 Royal Rumble match

At the 2012 Royal Rumble event, fans got to witness a string of surprises, including a Mick Foley return. What they weren't expecting was Kharma of all people making her way to the ring. As a confident Michael Cole was posing for the crowd, Kharma's music hit and the arena erupted in cheers. Cole had beaten Jerry 'The King' Lawler at WrestleMania 27 in 2011 and seemed very confident that he would pull off another upset on that night.

Kharma's only match in WWE was her Royal Rumble appearance

As Kharma entered the ring, Cole decided that it would be best for his well-being to simply leave the spot. He quickly got to the apron, where Booker T and Lawler eliminated him. Kharma was then berated by Dolph Ziggler, who wasn't thrilled with a woman entering the Men's Royal Rumble match. She laid out Ziggler, and then Gorilla Pressed Hunico out of the match. Hunico lasted exactly nine minutes in the Royal Rumble and didn't eliminate anyone, before being thrown out by Kharma. She was later thrown out by Ziggler and lasted 60 seconds.

#1 Nia Jax eliminates Mustafa Ali in the 2019 Royal Rumble match

At the 2019 Royal Rumble, Nia Jax came out to a loud chorus of boos, as the WWE Universe hadn't forgotten how she had accidentally punched Becky Lynch a while ago, leaving her with a bloodied face. Jax was on a mission to win the Women's Royal Rumble match and compete for one of the Women's titles at WrestleMania 35. Becky Lynch had other plans though. She eliminated Jax from the match, exacting revenge for what had happened during the build-up to Survivor Series 2018.

Nia Jax competed in two Royal Rumble matches on this night

Jax wasn't done though and went on to attack R-Truth before taking his place in the Men's Royal Rumble match. She lasted a little more than three minutes in the match, and her appearance gave us the memorable visual of Jax getting hit with an RKO by Randy Orton, which is still talked about to this day. She managed to eliminate Mustafa Ali from the match before getting thrown out by Rey Mysterio. Thus, Jax became the only woman to compete in two Royal Rumble matches on the same night.
