WWE Elimination Chamber 2021

We are firmly on the Road to WrestleMania, with the next stop being a familiar one. WWE's next pay-per-view, in less than two weeks, is Elimination Chamber. With WWE announcing the first few matches of the event on this week's RAW, the build has started.

WWE has announced three matches for Elimination Chamber so far

The WWE Championship will be decided inside the Elimination Chamber, as Drew McIntyre will try to fend off Sheamus, Randy Orton, AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, and The Miz. Meanwhile, RAW Women's Champion Asuka will face Lacey Evans, and Bobby Lashley will defend the United States Championship against Riddle and Keith Lee.

Following these three matches, WWE has teased another few for Elimination Chamber. Some of them are on RAW, while a few current storylines on SmackDown could be concluded at the event as well. While there are five matches mentioned, expect up to three of them to make the card.

However, it could be any of the five that are mentioned here. Here are some of the possible matches that could be added to Elimination Chamber 2021.

#5 The Dirty Dawgs vs. The Street Profits for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship

The SmackDown tag team division seems pretty bare, but there is some potential. Several teams could be formed or challenge for the Tag Team Championship, but for now, the feud between The Street Profits and The Dirty Dawgs is set to continue.

Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode are the current Champions, but it doesn't seem like their reign will last very long. Once The Street Profits get their rematch, possibly at Elimination Chamber, they may become the SmackDown Tag Team Champions once again.

This is one of the titles that is likely to change hands before WrestleMania, with Elimination Chamber being a possible place for it to happen. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins need to be presented more like stars heading into The Show of Shows, with a pay-per-view victory over Roode and Ziggler being a welcome sight for them.

However, there are other matches likely to take place at Elimination Chamber. Aside from the titular match on the SmackDown side, WWE has other developed storylines to focus on. The blowoff to The Street Profits vs. The Dirty Dawgs feud will likely happen on SmackDown itself.

#4 Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler could defend the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship against Lana and Naomi at Elimination Chamber

Following the much talked about finish to Nia Jax and Lana's Tables Match on RAW, the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship could be put on the line at Elimination Chamber. Lana and Naomi are due an opportunity against Jax and Shayna Baszler, with the babyfaces picking up separate singles victories over the menacing Champions.

This might end up being the blowoff to the entire saga between Lana and the Women's Tag Team Champions, with The Ravishing Russian ultimately coming out on top at Elimination Chamber. However, there is a chance that Jax and Baszler retain their titles.

Either way, it is nice to see two actual united teams going for the Women's Tag Team Championship. Charlotte Flair and Asuka were bad Champions due to their separate stories, while Lana and Naomi have their focus solely on capturing those titles.

The fact that Asuka is not defending her title inside the Elimination Chamber indicates that WWE might put Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler vs. Lana and Naomi on the card, along with the RAW Women's Champion's title defense against Lacey Evans.

#3 Big E and Apollo Crews could settle their Intercontinental title feud at Elimination Chamber

The story between Big E and Apollo Crews could come to a head at Elimination Chamber. Over the past month, Crews has challenged for the Intercontinental Championship and always came up short. He did receive an aggressive pep talk from Paul Heyman on Talking Smack, resulting in a fresher attitude.

The former member of Titus Worldwide could win the IC title and join Roman Reigns' faction on SmackDown, turning heel in the process. It would be quite the moment at Elimination Chamber, but Big E will not let that happen just like that. The match will be a competitive one, devoid of any distractions until possibly the finish.

Meanwhile, Big E has been great as the Intercontinental Champion. He has a lot more to give during this reign, with many exciting matches waiting in the wings for him as the Road to WrestleMania gains steam. In fact, Big E could even defend the IC title inside the Elimination Chamber.

However, his program with Apollo Crews must have a definitive conclusion in a singles match. And despite the potential in a Crews heel turn and title change, Big E should remain the Intercontinental Champion following Elimination Chamber.

#2 Kofi Kingston could face Mustafa Ali two years after replacing him inside the Elimination Chamber

One of the most story-driven matches WWE could book for Elimination Chamber is between Mustafa Ali and Kofi Kingston. The two Superstars have a history together, stemming particularly from this very pay-per-view. Ali suffered an injury before Elimination Chamber 2019 and was replaced by Kofi Kingston in the titular match for the WWE Championship.

The rest was history, with Kingston gaining enough momentum to win the WWE title at WrestleMania. Ali, however, did not reach that main event level when he was back. He is now saddled in RETRIBUTION, a group that has been severely hamstrung by WWE's booking of them. That being said, Ali's storyline with The New Day has some promise.

After Xavier Woods was being targeted for weeks, Kingston returned to action on RAW following an injured jaw. This sets up the match between him and Ali perfectly for Elimination Chamber, with all of the bad blood that may be there on Ali's part culminating in this one match.

Ideally, the two of them should have been in this year's WWE Championship Elimination Chamber Match to extend their story. They would contribute more to the multi-man match than the likes of The Miz and Jeff Hardy. But a singles match at the pay-per-view isn't a bad idea at all.

#1 Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Cesaro vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Seth Rollins - Elimination Chamber Match for the Universal Championship

WWE could mirror their Elimination Chamber announcement for Drew McIntyre by doing the same for Roman Reigns. It makes all the sense in the world for the current Universal Champion to face multiple opponents inside the dreaded structure, considering the enemies he has made over the past few months.

Reigns would face Kevin Owens, who remains in the Universal title picture and a host of prominent names on SmackDown. Shinsuke Nakamura earned his way to a world title match after his incredible performance in a Gauntlet Match, while Cesaro has been racking up the wins lately.

The Swiss Superman has two clean victories over Daniel Bryan and should be further showcased at Elimination Chamber. Meanwhile, Bryan is one good performance away from the fans go wild for a possible world title victory for him. The returning Seth Rollins would complete the field for Elimination Chamber.

While the result wouldn't be in much doubt, the action in this match would be pulsating. Every Superstar is capable of spectacular things - be it in-ring exchanges, memorable spots, or grandstand finishes. Daniel Bryan could particularly have a finishing sequence for the ages against Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber, reminding everybody just how good he is.
