5 mistakes that Vince McMahon and WWE cannot afford to make at Survivor Series 2019

WWE should not take the Universal Championship off Bray Wyatt
WWE should not take the Universal Championship off Bray Wyatt

Survivor Series is only days away and the excitement is quite palpable. I'm certain that I wasn't the only one who popped when Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Road Dogg led Team NXT, DX style to invade the SmackDown roster.

That said, while the pieces are all in place for a great pay-per-view event, I do honestly believe that there is also the possibility of things going awfully wrong as well. I am a mere writer while Vince McMahon is a multi-billionaire at the very top of his game, but as someone who's followed his product for over two decades now, I will suggest a small checklist so that the show goes off with no glitch.

As always, I invite you to weigh in and leave a comment with regard to whether or not, you'd want one or more of these things to potentially take place. Even if you disagree with my assessment, you are welcome to voice your opinions, folks!

Also, please leave a comment as to whether or not you enjoyed this week's episode of SmackDown by rating the matches here.

#5 Have The Fiend drop The Universal Championship

I say this as a fan of Mr. Daniel Bryan. I do believe that he's the greatest wrestler in the world at the moment and that he can make anyone that he works with look very good as well. Unfortunately, I do not think that it is his time to be the next WWE Universal Champion right now.

The Fiend is the hottest thing in the business at the moment and he should hold on to the blue strap at least all the way until WrestleMania 36. For Daniel Bryan to defeat The Fiend would just take away all of the momentum that the man has accrued over the past few weeks!

#4 Have Becky Lynch take the pin in her big match

I know that a lot of times an argument is made about top stars being okay, even if they take a pin. But if you look at the history of WWE, whether it was Stone Cold Steve Austin or Hulk Hogan, they definitely won a lot more matches than they lost, which made them the stars they are. Becky Lynch is the hottest babyface in the business at this point in time. I do not think that she should be the one to take a pin in the match against Shayna Baszler and Bayley.

Honestly, I think that it should be Bayley who is pinned by Shayna Baszler in the match. Or maybe Bayley passes out with Becky Lynch not involved in the finish at all. While I do realize that Bayley has a brand new character and she needs momentum too, I do honestly believe that if someone has to take a pin, it should be her.

You become a top star by being protected and Becky Lynch really does need to be protected by Vince McMahon and his Creative team.

#3 Make Rey Mysterio the brand new WWE Champion

Do I think that Rey Mysterio would be a great candidate to be the face of RAW? Yes, I do.

And yet, I don't think that it should be him who defeats Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series to become the WWE Champion, because Lesnar's reign has just commenced and for him to lose so soon, would make Kofi Kingston's loss on SmackDown absolutely meaningless. Brock Lesnar should, much like The Fiend, be portrayed as a bulletproof champion so that when someone does manage to defeat him, he/she gets the rub!

I know that Brock Lesnar does not have to lose clean for the title to change hands because Cain Velasquez or even Dio Maddin could show up and bash Lesnar's head in with a foreign object, incessantly. Even Rey Mysterio's own son could appear and help his father avenge all the wrong that's been done to their family.

And yet, I feel that it makes all the sense in the world to keep the title on Brock Lesnar for now. Maybe have someone like Drew McIntyre beat him at WrestleMania next year!

#2 Make the team members of every faction coexist

A lot of times what happens is that there is a battle at Survivor Series to prove who the dominant brand is! And then, subsequently, it is forgotten as the Superstars return to their respective brands to continue their regularly scheduled programming once again. Vince McMahon and his Creative Team must ensure that there is trouble in paradise, in the ranks of every single brand at WWE Survivor Series 2019.

I mean Baron Corbin and Roman Reigns are in the same brand and we all know that the two men cannot stand one another. We also know that Randy Orton and Ricochet have formed some sort of a makeshift alliance for the time being, but it may work better if the two men were at odds, working a program together. Without this element of drama, what is the difference between WWE and a real sport, ladies, and gentlemen?

Let the storylines created at Survivor Series bleed out over the following weeks. Let them stretch out all the way to WrestleMania!

#1 Have NXT lose all of its big matches

I know that RAW and SmackDown are far more important than NXT on the WWE list of priorities. Those are the two shows that bring in most of the viewership, and also, the two shows with more stars and household names.

But if NXT is to be a part of the mix, even though it is technically a Triple H brand, Vince McMahon needs to afford it a chance to appear competitive against the other brands. Only then, will NXT be viewed as a brand that is on par with SmackDown and RAW, and not a developmental property where stars are born before they go to the 'main roster'.

I think that the build has been great, especially if you consider that Team NXT picked up two big victories on WWE SmackDown, on the go-home episode! The Undisputed ERA picked up a win as so did Rhea Ripley!

They need to keep this momentum going all through Survivor Series 2019!
