5 Mistakes that WWE shouldn't make at any cost at Elimination Chamber - Wrong Universal Champion crowned, Big mistake with Edge

WWE should try and avoid the following mistakes this weekend.
WWE should try and avoid the following mistakes this weekend.

Elimination Chamber 2021, the upcoming pay-per-view from WWE, could set the stage for WrestleMania in the best manner possible. Alternatively, it could also go horribly wrong and derail the product completely.

In this article, we shall look at five decisions that WWE could make at Elimination Chamber 2021 that would not be in the best interests of the overall product. Chances are that WWE does not want to go down this route anyway at Elimination Chamber, but we'll provide a checklist regardless.

So, here are five things that WWE should not do at Elimination Chamber. As always, if you have a contrary viewpoint, do not hesitate to let us know in the comments below.

#5 Anyone but Roman Reigns leaves WWE Elimination Chamber as the brand new Universal Champion

Roman Reigns is the best thing not merely in WWE but in all of pro wrestling. He's had the best run of his life thus far, even eclipsing everything he's done in The Shield in his brand new avatar. For him to lose the WWE Universal Championship at Elimination Chamber would be a mistake.

In fact, Roman Reigns should not even lose his WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania and should carry it as long as possible. Can you imagine just about anyone in WWE that has the aura and commands the presence that he does right now?

Everyone wants the fairytale ending where Cesaro ends the reign of Roman Reigns at WWE Elimination Chamber, but booking that finish would be a mistake.

While it would be interesting to see Jey Uso win the Elimination Chamber match and go up against Roman Reigns for the third time, the result should be the same as the two other occasions. Roman Reigns needs to carry the title for a very long time.

#4 Edge turns heel at WWE Elimination Chamber and attacks Drew McIntyre

Let's hope that WWE doesn't decide to turn Edge heel at Elimination Chamber, as they may be tempted to, for a potential clash against Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania.

WWE has traditionally strayed away from babyface vs. babyface clashes at WrestleMania (with exceptions such as AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura or Hulk Hogan vs. The Ultimate Warrior).

It just doesn't make sense to turn either man heel at Elimination Chamber because they are two of the most beloved babyfaces in the company at this point in time.

Yes, Edge has done some of the best work of his life as a heel, but his comeback story is far too glorious for him to adopt such a persona at this moment. It just makes far more sense for him to challenge Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.

A babyface vs. babyface match with Edge vs. Drew McIntyre could work, but it would be strange for WWE to go down that route when a good alternative is available.

#3 Bray Wyatt does not make a return at WWE Elimination Chamber attacking Randy Orton

WWE has to bring The Fiend back at Elimination Chamber this weekend. The feud between Alexa Bliss and Randy Orton has intensified in the lead-up to the pay-per-view, but to not have him return would be a mistake.

This feud has stretched for so long now that for The Fiend to sit on the sidelines would just be sheer torture for fans. Alexa Bliss has done her best to keep the program going. But there's only so much inter-gender violence that WWE will allow, meaning that there's been something missing in the lead-up to Elimination Chamber.

Maybe the lights go out during the Elimination Chamber match, and when they come back on, Bray Wyatt is in the same pod as Randy Orton, making him eat the Mandible Claw.

Because there are two WWE Elimination Chamber matches on the same night, unless you have shenanigans of this manner, a degree of sameness could pervade the proceedings. What do you guys think?

#2 Either Jeff Hardy, AJ Styles, or Kofi Kingston win the WWE Elimination Chamber match

Ideally, WWE Champion Drew McIntyre should win the Elimination Chamber match this weekend and carry the title all the way to WrestleMania. There are only two alternatives to this scenario. Sheamus wins the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber 2021 and defends it against Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania (not the ideal match, but an acceptable match).

The only other acceptable option is for Randy Orton to become the WWE Champion at Elimination Chamber and defend the title against The Fiend at WrestleMania (provided scenario #3 does not play out).

No offense to AJ Styles, Kofi Kingston, or Jeff Hardy, but neither of these three men has had a compelling feud leading up to this point. And it doesn't make sense to give them a win at this juncture, at a stage as big as WWE Elimination Chamber.

Each one of them is a world-class athlete, but there's a place and time for everything, and now is not the time to put the strap around their waists.

#1 Anyone but Cesaro wins the WWE Elimination Chamber match with SmackDown Superstars

Cesaro is the choice of the WWE Universe to win the Elimination Chamber match this weekend for a variety of reasons. Not only do they believe that it is finally his time, but there's been a significant push for him by many in WWE, which translated into a string of wins on SmackDown as well.

In fact, Natalya had this to say about Cesaro when she caught up with SK Wrestling:

"Cesaro is the greatest professional wrestler in the world. There is nobody that can touch him. There is no Superstar today; that is Cesaro. So, I can't wait to watch Cesaro shine and hopefully get a chance to main event WrestleMania."

Because the stage is already set, it just makes sense for Cesaro to stand tall in the upcoming Elimination Chamber match. For anyone else to win the match would be a mistake.

Cesaro and Roman Reigns could tear it up in the main event of Elimination Chamber. There is no other option, really.
