5 most believable finishing moves in WWE at the moment

Finishing move is something which can make or break a professional wrestler. Throughout the history of wrestling we’ve seen a lot of finishers. While some turned out to be cult success stories, others were not lucky enough. And most of the successful finishers had one thing in common: believability. The secret is to make the fans convince that a superstar will not be able to kick out at two (unless it’s John Cena of course) after the finisher. Not all the current finishers in the WWE have this factor in their favor but there are some out there which gets the job done. So here is a look at the most believable finishers in the WWE at the moment.

#5 Chokeslam

This is a bit old school but still, Chokeslam belongs to the list of believable moves in WWE. A superstar is lifted up from his feet and slammed on his back in the move and since it is performed by tall superstars like Undertaker, Kane and Big Show, it looks more devastating.

The stock of Chokeslam in WWE has gone down considerably after the company decided to let Big Show switch to knockout punch (which is ridiculous by the way). Kane is the only one who use this finisher now and since he does not win many matches, the respect level for the move is low.

Despite all these factors, one cannot argue about the believability of chokeslam that makes the fan go wild whenever it is performed.

#4 RKO

If you are saying that you have not heard about RKO, then you must be using Internet Explorer. The RKO out of nowhere trended all across the internet a few months back and while it looked cool on all the edited videos, it looks better in between the ropes.

Randy Orton has been making waves with this move ever since his debut and though it is a rip off of the Diamond Cutter move of Diamond Dallas Page, it is Orton who made it a global phenomenon.

The face getting hit hard on the wrestling mat has the potential to knock anyone out instantly and this is what makes RKO a believable move from the lot.

#3 F-5

There wouldn’t have been any better move than the F-5 to conclude Brock Lesnar’s dominance in a match. The Beast is known for tearing through his opponents irrespective of the size and status.

The word ‘size’ in the sentence needs to be highlighted because when performing the F-5, size doesn’t matter. He has done the move to superstars ranging from Spike Dudley to the Big Show and all of them looked equally effective.

Lesnar lifts up his opponent and spins them in midair before they take an awkward landing. If that does not look believable, then there aren’t many other things which do.

#2 Curb Stomp

From the so called ‘new generation’ superstars of WWE, Seth Rollins has without any competition, the most believable finisher. The curb stomp crushes the head of one’s opponent between Rollins’ head and the ring mat.

Place an orange in place of that head, and we will get some good old orange juice because the move is that much effective. Rollins took out many names like Dean Ambrose and Randy Orton with the move and the cinder block gimmick made the stomp more vicious.

Rollins has a lot of years left in him and with the right opponents, the Curb stomp could go down in history as one of the most decorated finisher in the company.

#1 Pedigree

Some people might not agree with this one, and for the ones who belong to that category, try taking a pedigree from Triple H. The move slams the face of one’s opponent right into the mat while the arms are held to the back restricting them from providing any protection.

Hunter has been using the move for nearly three decades now. Chyna also used Pedigree for some time during her WWE stay with the most notable one being the one she gave Chris Jericho from the top rope.

Triple H giving Mick Foley one into the thumbtacks is another memorable pedigree and the reason for the move still being seen as a threat is its believability.
