5 NXT superstars who succeeded on the main roster

Does success on NXT guarantee success on the main roster?
Does success on NXT guarantee success on the main roster?

WWE Main Roster is known to be the burial ground for the fresh NXT superstars. Several NXT talents who were a major force in the yellow brand, faced the wrath of main roster booking as soon as they were called up.

Superstars like Shinsuke Nakamura, EC3, Bobby Roode, etc. were the main-event attraction during their time in NXT. However, their transition to main roster was not as attractive and they were relegated to lower card status.

There are several superstars in the current NXT roster who could head up to the main roster soon. The likes of Velveteen Dream, Undisputed Era, Shayna Baszler, etc. have spent over two years in NXT and a move to the main roster is imminent.

Will they or won't they succeed is a major question for the WWE Universe. However, they could actually find success on the main roster similar to these five superstars.

For this list we are considering superstars who have spent relatively long time in NXT.

#5 Sasha Banks

The Boss Sasha Banks
The Boss Sasha Banks

Sasha Banks main-evented a WWE PPV, fought in a Falls Count Anywhere match in the main event of RAW, won the RAW Women's Championship four times under a year and finally became the first ever WWE Women's Tag Team Champion along with Bayley.

Sasha Banks was one of the hottest acts in NXT during her stay, and helped to put NXT on the map. She competed in a Iron Man match in NXT and on the main roster as well.

Sasha Banks has currently taken a leave from WWE, and if rumors are to be believed, we may have seen the last of Banks in WWE.

She had a great stay on the main roster, but ended up being overshadowed by the likes of Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss.

#4 Big E Langston

Big E is one-third of the longest reigning tag champs in WWE
Big E is one-third of the longest reigning tag champs in WWE

The former NXT Champion, Big E has found great main roster success. Although his singles run might not have been that great, he has revolutionized the tag-team division alongside Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston.

Big E oozes charisma and is a beast inside the squared circle. He can have tremendous match ups and deliver high quality promos. The versatility of Big E has stood out in a stale WWE product in the last few years.

Big E deserves a future World Championship reign. Imagine a New Day triple threat in the future for Kofi Kingston's WWE Championship!

Big E is one of the few who have captured the NXT Championship, and has found success on the main roster unlike fellow NXT Champions Nakamura, Roode, Bo Dallas and Sami Zayn.

Here's hoping Big E holds a singles title sooner rather than later!

#3 Kevin Owens

The Prizefighter Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens defeated John Cena clean as a whistle in his very first night in WWE. He was one of the first superstars to appear on the main roster while holding a NXT Championship. Owens won his first championship just three months into his main roster career, and has not looked back since.

Kevin Owens won the Universal Championship after Finn Balor vacated the title. He held the title for over six months before losing it to Goldberg! He has won the United States and Intercontinental Championship several times and is one tag-team championship away from becoming a Grand Slam Champion in WWE.

Kevin Owens has found great success on the main roster unlike his best friend Sami Zayn, who is yet to win a single championship on the main roster.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn should team up and win the tag-titles. Owens completes his Grand Slam while Zayn wins his first title alongside his "best friend"!

#2 Charlotte Flair

The Queen has broken quite a few records
The Queen has broken quite a few records

Charlotte Flair has won the Women's Championship nine times! That line should be enough to prove the success of Flair on the main roster. She was the first ever holder of the repackaged Women's Championship and the last ever winner of the Divas Championship.

Charlotte Flair is termed as the Roman Reigns of Women's Division and it is not hard to understand why. She has constantly featured in history making moments in WWE, including the first ever Women's Main Event at Wrestlemania!

Charlotte Flair still has a long career ahead of her, and it is entirely possible that she ends up breaking her father's record of sixteen world championships. She has cemented her legacy in the women's division and has paved the way for women to succeed in WWE.

Charlotte is currently on Smackdown looking to win her 10th championship against Bayley.

#1 Seth Rollins

The Beastslayer, The Kingslayer and The Architect, Seth Rollins has had a stellar career in WWE. How many superstars can boast of defeating Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar in the main-event of Wrestlemania?

Seth Rollins is one of the few superstars who have held the WWE title as well as the Universal title. He has defeated the likes of Sting, Triple H, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar in his main-roster run, which is a significant achievement for any superstar.

Seth Rollins was the inaugural NXT Champion in a lineage which has several talented superstars. He is one of the very few superstars who can boast of having a positive head-to-head record against Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.

Seth Rollins was a member of the Shield, arguably one of the greatest factions in professional wrestling
