In one of the most surprising returns in WWE history, WWE Hall of Famer Edge entered in at #21 to a loud pop at the 2020 Royal Rumble PPV. Edge had a strong showing in the free-for-all and was eliminated by Roman Reigns during the closing moments of the match. He immediately kicked off a feud with WWE veteran Randy Orton on the road to WrestleMania 36, after the latter brutally attacked him on the following RAW. The duo faced each other in a Last Man Standing match at The Show of Shows, with Edge exacting revenge on Orton.
Orton and Edge were once a dominant heel tag team on RAW, back in 2006-07. The duo had joined forces to rid WWE of the reunited DX. Soon after WrestleMania 23, Edge made his way to SmackDown and Rated RKO became history. Around three years later, the two Superstars engaged in a feud after WrestleMania 26. They went at it at Over The Limit 2010, with the match ending in a double count-out, thus effectively ending the feud.

Given the opportunity to script WWE’s next big storyline, Abhilash would treat fans to the second installment of The Bloodline Civil War. He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
