5 Possible Challengers For Seth Rollins' Intercontinental Championship At MITB

W
Who will Seth face at MITB?

Seth Rollins put the IC Championship on the line against The Miz at Backlash in what was undoubtedly the match of the night. But with The Miz now on Smackdown, The Architect will look to find new challengers for the Intercontinental Championship for the upcoming Money IN The Bank PPV.

Here are 5 Superstars who have the best chance of getting that spot:

#5 Bobby Lashley

The
The Dominator

Bobby Lashley returned to WWE on the RAW after Wrestlemania after being absent from the company for about 10 years. During this time Lashley was a part of Impact Wrestling and Bellator MMA.

Also known as The Dominator, Lashley has done anything but dominate since his return. He has become a second fiddle to Braun Strowman and the highlight of his return so far has been as the Tag Team partner for the Monster Among Men.

In order to shine and regain relevance as a singles Superstar, Lashley needs a solid singles feud and who better to do that with than Seth Rollins.

Lashley is a superb in-ring athlete and a match with Rollins at a PPV like MITB could help bring attention to that.

#4 Elias

Elias has gotten over with the crowd like no one could have predicted. Having had a lackluster run in NXT, very few people had high hopes from Elias when he made his debut on the main roster.

Elias proved his critics wrong as he has turned into one of the most charismatic mic workers in WWE right now and has time and again proved his mettle in the ring.

Despite this, "The Drifter" has merely drifted through feuds and hasn't held a single championship during his tenure as a WWE Superstar.

Elias would work as the perfect foil for Seth Rollins with his brash, arrogant and selfish personality-- something that Rollins himself was notorious for until a few years back.

#3 Chad Gable

Chad Gable

This might not seem like a very conventional pick as Gable is not exactly an established singles superstar as of now. However, Gable has proved time and again, tag team or singles-- he can hang in the ring with the best.

If given a chance to showcase his skills against a veteran like Seth Rollins on a stage grander than a weekly show, Gable will undoubtedly shine like a diamond.

A former Smackdown Tag Team Champion, Chad Gable has a background in amateur wrestling and has also represented the USA in the Summer Olympics. Not just that, Gable has done well with what limited mic time he has been given.

I fear WWE will waste Gable as a side act and fail to use his potential to the fullest. A feud with a top-card guy like Rollins will give this young upstart just the momentum he needs.

#2 Baron Corbin

The
The Lonewolf

"The Lonewolf" was one of the Smackdown Superstars who were drafted to RAW as part of the Superstar Shakeup this year. Even though a former US Champion and MITB winner, Corbin's ship has failed to take off in the sea of WWE.

Given a massive push upon his arrival, Corbin succumbed to the pressure and failed to deliver on the main roster. Many believed that WWE had lost confidence in him after he was made to squander his MITB opportunity by way of a failed cash-in on then WWE Champion Jinder Mahal. However, reports state that WWE is still keen on Corbin and he might get another shot at success on RAW.

With his current lackluster feud with No Way Hose seeming like a mere stepping stone, Corbin could be a great opponent for Rollins at MITB.

#1 Jason Jordan

J
Jason Jordan

Jason Jordan has been out due to injury for more than 3 months now. However, rumors run rampant this week about him being cleared for return and a possible return on RAW this week-- which did not happen.

If Jordan is indeed set to return before MITB, what better match than to have Rollins go up against his former tag team partner. Seth and Jason had, what we would call, a makeshift team and hardly ever got along. Their time as a team was plagued by the over smart Jason Jordan weaseling his way out of situations, only for Rollins to face the brunt.

Jordan could return simply by way of attacking Rollins or having a longer-term slow burn heel turn as was planned earlier before he got injured.
