WWE Survivor Series 2017: 5 possible finishes for The Miz vs. Baron Corbin 

In two weeks’ time, RAW and SmackDown will do battle at the 30th annual Survivor Series. The two brands will pit their champions against each other in order to determine the stronger brand. In one of a series of champion vs. champion matches, Baron Corbin will take on The Miz.

The United States Championship and the Intercontinental Championship are both titles viewed as mid-card worthy. But due to the calibre of talent in this match, this bout feels like a main event. The two champions are experiencing strong ends to the year and this bout has come at the perfect time for the WWE Universe.

So, without any further ado, here are 5 possible finishes for The Miz vs. Baron Corbin.

#5 The Miz gets disqualified

As the cheating, conniving heel he is, the Miz will do anything to win without putting in the effort. He runs away from competition whilst complaining the most about others. The Miz would love nothing more than to take the night off at Survivor Series.

He enjoys the media runs, hype and attention that surrounds a pay-per-view, but having the actual fight is not always on his agenda.

The WWE could book this in a way that makes Corbin look strong and gather more heat on The Miz. Baron Corbin could be mercilessly dominating the Intercontinental Champion, only for one of the Miztourage to hand their leader a foreign object. The referee could then turn his back to see The Miz holding the object, forcing him to disqualify the Ohio native.

Over the past year and a half, nobody on WWE television has been more interesting than The Miz. Without necessarily being in the main event, he has made himself the focal point of Monday Night Raw against all odds.

His 5-star promos, action-packed matches and great storytelling have made him a main event player in the WWE again. Now the WWE must utilise that momentum and give The Miz the booking his exploits deserve.

It’s always hard to book heel vs. heel matches as it’s impossible to gauge which one deserves stronger booking. But in this scenario, a clean Miz win would remove all asterisks from his name.

Baron Corbin is a mean-looking, intimidating figure that stands head & shoulders above most superstars. That’s from a physical standpoint and ability-wise perspective too. Such qualities cannot be ignored and it’s only a matter of time before the 6 foot plus beast manifests those unique physical attributes.

Baron Corbin squashing The Miz would surprise everyone, including the hardcore fanbase. The squashing would also allow The A-Lister to do what he does best the night after — rant & complain. An annoyed Miz provides the most compelling TV, as his promos contain a more defined edge when his character is aggrieved.

#2 The Miz wins thanks to the Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel

As the most must-see champion in the WWE today, The Miz has been riding a wave of momentum since last summer. The Miz, being the unselfish human being that he is, also decided to capitalise on that momentum by bringing two other on board with him.

Those lucky men were Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel, two men who had been overlooked by WWE officials and been branded as jobbers on the show. After all, Bo Dallas held the NXT title for 280 days while Axel is a former Paul Heyman Guy.

Now they follow The Miz around, as the champion main events show after show. However, with their presence has come several cheap endings which garnered great heat for the group.

Whenever they accompany The Miz to the ring, the odds are automatically stacked against their opponent. Baron Corbin is already an easily wound up individual, so the presence of Dallas and Axel alone would infuriate him, thus opening avenues for them to distract him and hand The Miz a win.

Baron Corbin is a mean machine that needs booking befitting of his appearance. As a man who doesn’t care about anyone but himself, he’s not interested in delivering a high-profile match for the WWE Universe. He just wants to do what’s best for him and, quite frankly, he may see a match with The Miz as beneath him.

So as a result of that constant frustration, it’d be great if Baron Corbin exploded all that anguish and took it out on The Miz.

As The Miz & his entourage are making their way down to the ring, the Lone Wolf should come out from behind them and lay waste to them all. The beat down would leave the Miz incapable to compete and give Baron the strongest booking he’s received in a year.

The best bit about it all is that the two wouldn’t have to meet face to face the night after as they’re from separate brands.
