McIntyre needs to pick up some huge wins in order to get ready for a main event push.
While many people think that McIntyre should win the Rumble and become the Universal Champion at Wrestlemania, it's actually too soon for that. No doubt that McIntyre is bound to become Raw's top heel in the coming months, but a World Title run can wait until Summerslam. The Scottish Psychopath has decimated almost every opponent that he has crossed paths with yet. However, he still needs to win some "big" matches to reach the next level. His dominating win against Kurt Angle last month helped him pick up some much-needed momentum.
He needs to follow it by racking up wins against some big and well-established names. A feud with John Cena culminating in a match at Wrestlemania can do wonders for Drew and prepare him for a World Title win by Summerslam 2019. In addition to that, it would be a completely fresh feud, something Raw hasn't been producing as of late.
Ali Siddiqui is a listicle and feature writer for Sportskeeda Wrestling since 2018. After completing his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, he decided to write for Sportskeeda Wrestling after learning about it through a friend. He briefly worked for The Sportster as well.
Ali's love for pro wrestling dates back to when Randy Orton won a Battle Royal to become the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 2004. His current favorite wrestler is Cody Rhodes because he's the ultimate throwback babyface. He believes Rhodes has the Surfer Sting's passion, Bret Hart's prop-gifting schtick, a catchy theme like Hogan's, and a kid-friendly demeanor akin to John Cena's.
When he is not doing research for his articles on Google or catching up with the latest in pro wrestling, Ali can be found honing his Data Science and AI skills as he strives to get back into tech in the near future.
