Asuka and Charlotte are both the leading wrestlers of the WWE's women division, and it won't be changing soon. Both are amazing athletes who have built their credibility in WWE over the years by consistently performing well.
These two competitors have held between them a total of 18 championships combined in WWE. These two have also collided with each other on more than one occasion.
These two currently hold the Women's Tag Team Championships together after defeating Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler at TLC in December. Charlotte returned to the ring as the mystery partner of Asuka after a six-month-long hiatus due to an injury she suffered in June 2020.
Given WWE's past booking of The Queen, it won't be long before she is involved in a singles title feud. She is one of WWE's top stars and is always in a tussle for top championships.
Sure she has the Women's Tag Team titles, but that doesn't hold the same prestige as the RAW or SmackDown Women's Championship.
Asuka and Charlotte have had some memorable encounters in the past, and there would be no harm in having them go at it again. Their last match took place in June, which was also the last match Charlotte had before taking a break.
It was contested over the RAW Women's Championship and resulted in Charlotte tapping out to the Empress of Tomorrow.
It might be time for Charlotte to get her win back. Charlotte is currently busy with a feud against Lacey Evans and her own father, Ric Flair. However, once that is done, it leaves us with Charlotte and Asuka to face each other at Elimination Chamber.
You can argue that WWE could save the match for WrestleMania, but the rumors about Rhea vs. Charlotte 2 and Ronda Rousey returning would suggest otherwise.
