5 Possible opponents for Batista at WrestleMania 35

Rumour market has been recently ambushed with reports stating WWE has high plans for Batista.

Batista who has not wrestled for years made a rare appearance last year. He joined his former Evolution mates Triple H, Ric Flair and Randy Orton for a reunion. In the very same segment, WWE teased animosity between The Animal and Triple H.

That match will have been most likely sidelined as Triple H has been out injured after his Crown Jewel match. Therefore WWE has been forced to explore other viable opponents for the actor turned wrestler.

The recent rumour suggests WWE has big plans for the Blade Runner star.

Currently, everyone's knowledge regarding this match is very limited. Thus we can do nothing except speculating who it could be.

So today we will list out five potential superstars who can match toe to toe with Batista at the Grandest Stage of Them All.

#1 Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman has been the most destructive superstar of recent times with some astonishing feats to his name. One thing which is paucity in The Monster among Men is his ability to win big matches.

Strowman has failed to win many big matches in his career span. He has been falling short on most of the occasions. A big win and that too against someone like Batista's calibre can help in resurrecting the career of the former Raw Tag Team Champion.

To be precise this match will not be a dull affair. As both superstars can bring to the table a perfect blend of raw strength. Together they can deliver an instant classic heavyweight type match; a type of match not happened in WWE for a while now.

WWE can build this feud after Elimination Chamber. As Strowman is out of the Universal Championship picture he can certainly be Batista's opponent for the night. Batista will also be more than happy to put over someone like Strowman.

#2 John Cena

As we are talking about possible WrestleMania matches, so we have to talk about more dream matches.

Though this match has happened on several previous occasions and even on free television. Still, these two Hollywood stars can be given one more match together at this year's Mania.

John Cena recently returned to the WWE television after a long hiatus. It seems improbable that he is going to overdo his stay at the moment. He will work only a few episodes of Raw and Smackdown Live! during the build-up to WrestleMania 35.

The same can be speculated regarding Batista's scheduling. Thus a feud based on the history between the two former World Champions will be the best option.

It is reported Cena's new role on the path to Mania is to put over younger talents. WWE can instead take a different path and set a match between the two.

This will be in the light of Cena's rumoured match against Sullivan at Mania. As both Sullivan and Batista are giant freaks.

#3 Samoa Joe

WrestleMania 35 will mark as the first ever Mania for the Samoan Submission Machine missing out on two occasions previously.

With the looks of his current booking and recent actions it seems unlikely he will be part of any major match at the Mania. Then what could be more beneficial for him then to get a rub against The Animal?

It would be a completely fresh match. Many fans have been urging for this match to happen for a time now. In this new era, WWE can give fans what they need.

Just like Strowman, Joe can bring the classic heavyweight match out with Batista. A thing much better in this scenario would be the promos delivered.

We all know how good Joe is on the mic, same can be said about The Animal. A war of words between the two can be a thing to look upon to.

WWE can kickstart this feud anytime after Royal Rumble PPV.

#4 Brock Lesnar

Two WWE legends who have never squared each other on the main roster are Lesnar and Batista.

It can change this time out. This two superstar can go all out against each other at Mania. With Batista saying a return to WWE will happen only for another match against Triple H but this possibility is now ruled out. So instead WWE can book this big money match.

Batista had a very small but successful stint with MMA so we can expect a completely wild encounter between The Animal and The Beast.

Lesnar can drop the title at Rumble to Balor and move on to Batista as a challenger. Heyman can indulge in a war of words with Batista and let his client Lesnar do the physical work.

With Lesnar's departure for UFC looming, WWE has very little time to do this in a WWE ring.

#5 Randy Orton

Just like any other former multiple time World Champion Randy Orton seems a bit lost at the moment on the Road to WrestleMania.

There were speculations he is going to face Styles in a dream match at the Mania. Though this match will be a delight to watch I personally feel a sadistic Orton versus returning Batista will be a better match for Mania.

Orton has been doing some best work of his career in his recent heel turn. He has been going against veterans like Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio. He can add Batista to that list as well.

We got a mini glimpse of this match at WrestleMania 30 but Bryan's meteoric rise to the top overshadowed that clash. Two superstars if a given chance can deliver an instant classic for the fans.

These two former World Champions were in the same ring during the 1000th episode of SmackDown Live! last year. A vicious assault on a returning Batista by Orton can make this match a done deal.
