Ricochet would be a fantastic choice to become the next United States Champion and certainly has some fans backstage. Ricochet had some moments with the WWE Champion leading up to and in the Royal Rumble match. While Drew McIntyre did eliminate Brock Lesnar, it was after Ricochet hit the champion with a low blow and stunned him.
Ricochet is a former United States Champion and can put on instant classic matches that this title, at it's best, is most remembered with. Putting the title on Ricochet could help boost his popularity, could launch himself into a feud with someone like Buddy Murphy going into WrestleMania, or a returning Andrade or possibly Bobby Lashley.
Fans desperately want good things to happen for Ricochet and having another run with the United States title is just maybe what he needs to reignite his path to stardom. Also, how poetic would it be that the two men responsible for eliminating Brock Lesnar from the Royal Rumble are also the two men in the two singles title pictures on Raw?
