Maryse and Brie Bella used to live together earlier in their careers during their first run in WWE. However, after both women were contacted to return to the company in 2013, their friendship fell apart when Maryse felt that Brie blocked her opportunity to go back.
According to Brie, WWE offered her, Nikki Bella and Maryse “a really great work opportunity”, presumably the Total Divas reality show, but the company then decided that they only wanted The Bella Twins to return.
Maryse did eventually show up on WWE television again but not until 2016, three years after Brie and Nikki re-signed and became the stars of Total Divas.
