"The Lone Wolf" Baron Corbin is set to take on the most must-see champion in the WWE, The Miz, at Survivor Series. The pay-per-view is the only event on the calendar where Superstars from both brands can directly take on each other, for a battle of superiority.

The two have been sending each other explosive messages on social media, taking this feud to new levels. The bout is now more than a champion vs. champion match, it’s become personal between the two Superstars.

The Intercontinental Champion has had an amazing 2017, but to complete that year, he should put over the younger Baron Corbin.

Here are five reasons why Baron Corbin should beat the Miz at Survivor Series.

#5 Corbin needs to be booked as a monster

For a man that weighs 275lbs and stands at 6’6" tall, Baron Corbin should be booked much stronger than he is. The man is a monster in the making and shouldn’t be wasting his time scrapping with Sin Cara on Tuesday nights.

He should be going to toe to toe with Braun Strowman and the Big Show. That’s why a match against The Miz should only end in one way.

On paper, Corbin vs. The Miz is a mismatch, but in the sports entertainment world, Miz is a heavy favourite. But a casual viewer tuning in won’t see it that way, because when comparing height and physical attributes, the two don’t match up in the slightest.

Corbin beating The Miz clean helps him go on the road to becoming an unstoppable monster.

#4 Fans are growing tired of the Miztourage deciding matches

The Miz's current IC title reign is at 154 days

Every good thing must come to an end before it becomes tedious. The reason fans are still so in love with the ‘you just made the list’ Y2J gimmick is because it ended before it could become stale.

The Miz may be having a career-defining year, but in a temperamental world, constantly evolving is needed to stay on top. The gimmick of the Miztourage winning matches for The Miz is a tried and tested formula in sports entertainment, but it can only last for a certain period of time.

If The Miz were to beat Baron Corbin at Survivor Series through another shortcut, the fans could quickly grow to turn on him. Instead, a surprising ending must occur, with the US Champion overcoming the numerical odds to walk out victorious.

It’d look good on Corbin, whilst foreshadowing the first signs of cracks in the Miztourage brotherhood.

#3 SmackDown needs some credibility

Last week's edition of SmackDown drew an average 2.69 million viewers

Ever since the superstar shake-up, SmackDown have clearly lacked in star power compared to their Monday night rivals. With John Cena so openly saying he needed to leave SDLive for bigger things on RAW, the show is undoubtedly now viewed as the B-show.

It’s almost a guarantee that the RAW men’s team will be beating SmackDown’s team at Survivor Series. With stars like Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman and Kurt Angle on Team RAW, the bout already looks like a mismatch.

The fact that fans can already see how heavily favoured the RAW team is, is indicative of how looked down upon SmackDown is.

Baron Corbin beating a heavily featured RAW Superstar gives the show more credibility, showing the WWE Universe that the higher-ups do value the blue brand.

#2 Legitimises the United States Championship

The US title was Corbin's first title in the WWE

Ever since John Cena’s US open challenge ended at Hell in a Cell in 2015, the United States Championship has faded back into irrelevance. Around Cena’s waist, it was almost as important as the WWE Championship; now it’s a lower-card belt.

On the other hand, The Miz has given the Intercontinental Championship the relevance it deserves.

Baron Corbin getting a win over the Intercontinental Champion at Survivor Series instantly raises the profile of the United States Championship. Vince McMahon has always said that it’s not the title that makes the man, it’s the man that makes the title.

The Miz has made the Intercontinental Championship what it is and it’s his star power that could also elevate the United States Championship at Survivor Series.

#1 Baron Corbin needs to regain momentum

Despite being put over by AJ Styles a few weeks back, Baron Corbin is still viewed as a joke by the WWE Universe. His underwhelming defeat at Summerslam to John Cena and unsuccessful MITB cash-in have severely devalued his character, wasting away all his previous credit.

The former winner of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal is now being viewed as an afterthought this year and for the brand to thrive, Corbin needs to restore his rightful standing in the main event.

JBL used to announce him as a future world champion, a win over the Miz at Survivor Series would go a long way in restoring that momentum.
