5 Reasons Charlotte Flair should beat up Stephanie McMahon

Show her who’s genetically superior

Charlotte Flair and Stephanie McMahon have a lot in common.

Both of them are second generation superstars, and their fathers are legends who’ve paved their way in the sports entertainment industry. Both of them have worked their rear ends off, through the years, to establish characters of their own and redefine the sports entertainment world in their own way, stepping out of the shadows cast by their fathers.

Heck, the Flair family and the McMahon family are probably the two most recognisable surnames in the business of pro wrestling. Why then are we suggesting that Charlotte should beat up Stephanie McMahon? Read on, and we’ll tell you why!

#5 Male superstars cannot retaliate

The Rock couldn’t have done anything about it himself

Gone are the days when Stephanie McMahon would eat Stunners and Pedigrees every week.

It’s a different time now, and male superstars cannot retaliate, even when they’re getting their teeth slapped out of their very own gums. Week after week we see male superstars eat slaps from McMahon, and not be able to retaliate despite them looking weak and powerless.

The most they can do is grin and pretend like it’s not a big deal, like Roman Reigns did. But Charlotte has no such shortcomings. By virtue of being a female superstar, she can retaliate if Stephanie attempts to bury her with slaps. Which brings us to our next, and equally important point.

#4 Sets up a potential match

We give this match a thumbs up. Naych gives it a ‘woooo!’

We haven’t seen Stephanie McMahon inside the squared-circle for a while. She's obviously not the best worker in the ring, especially compared to talent these days. But Stephanie McMahon can not only hold her own in the ring but can put on fairly decent matches.

Any match with stakes is a big deal, and giving the audience a chance to see Stephanie McMahon beaten up can honestly draw big money.

Because truth be told, we’ve seen Charlotte carry the division on her back for a long time through her impressive and record-breaking reign; but this is a match that has never really transpired even now.

The one mistake that WWE can make in this match is to have Stephanie McMahon go over clean, but that’s a mistake that even today’s atrocious booking teams would not make. We wanna see this happen!

#3 Face turn

Charlotte has pretty much accomplished everything as a heel

Charlotte, or Charlotte Flair as she is now known has been a part of more consecutive PPVs than any woman in history. She’s improved on the mic and has done a great job with the abysmal storylines that are given to her. We believe that while her heel run was fantastic, she needs to go babyface now.

And what better way to make that happen than to beat up the most hated woman on the roster- Stephanie McMahon? This will allow Charlotte to face a new host of opponents such as Dana Brooke, Nia Jax and the returning Emma/Emmalina.

The Dana storyline especially has been simmering for a while now, and it’s hard to imagine Dana as the babyface at this point in time.

#2 Unresolved Ric Flair slap angle

This is an angle that transpired and was dropped

Back in the old days, an angle like this would have a very major storyline follow up. But at the Natalya-Charlotte Flair contract signing, presided by Shane and Stephanie McMahon not too long ago, it was ruled that Charlotte would lose her Women’s championship, if Ric was to interfere in the match.

That naturally got Naych all riled up, and he got in the prodigal son’s face making Shane call for security to escort Flair from the ring. Stephanie McMahon would hit Ric with a thunderous slap. We were sure that it would lead to a money making feud between Charlotte and Stephanie in the long run.

But shockingly the angle was dropped, and nothing transpired thereafter.

#1 Eliminating the Authority storyline

Foley deserves a solo run as General Manager

One of the main reasons that Mick Foley has been so ineffective as a General Manager is that he acts like a stooge to the Authority, and especially Stephanie McMahon. The Authority is a storyline that has run its course, has become stale and needs to be rebooted for Raw to be fresh and interesting.

We thought Dolph Ziggler and Sting would get rid of it first, then we thought Shane McMahon would end their tyranny and ultimately pinned our hopes on Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 32. But even now, Stephanie McMahon continues to bore us with the same stale promos, over and over again.

Maybe Charlotte would beat up Stephanie McMahon so bad, that she could be taken off television allowing for Foley to have a solo run as the Raw General Manager, without Stephanie to oversee every action of his. One can hope!
