5 Reasons why Alexa Bliss is being nice to Nikki Cross

Ever since she has been a member of the main roster, Alexa Bliss has been a mean-girl heel. Despite her diminutive size, she mocked Nia Jax, Bayley and Sasha Banks. And when she was champion, she routinely had Mickie James by her side so that she didn't need to get her hands dirty.

But after the Superstar Shakeup, Bliss remained on Raw while Lacey Evans, Cross and Naomi joined the red brand. Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey departed following WrestleMania due to injury while Sasha Banks has been AWOL since 'Mania as well.

In the Shake Up, Bayley and Ember Moon joined the blue brand from Raw. Things changed in the division once Becky Lynch defeated Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women's Title. It took Lynch from SmackDown to Raw but also left Raw devoid of credible threats for the title. Lynch and Bliss have battled over a title before when both were members of SmackDown.

With so much change to Raw's Women's Division, a lot more might be in store if anything is to come from the partnership between Bliss and Nikki Cross. Is it being done for convenience or is it going to go somewhere? Here are five reasons as to why Bliss is being nice to the former member of SAnitY.

#5 She wants/needs an ally

Don't touch her unexpectedly, Dash!
Don't touch her unexpectedly, Dash!

Having someone watch your back is always vital in not only life but also pro wrestling. Bliss has previously had both Nia Jax and Mickie James watching her back at various points in her main roster career, but after WrestleMania this year, she was alone.

If she's is staying heel, a confidante or an ally always works best for Bliss' character. She's not the biggest, but her bark is more believable if she has someone else to do her dirty work and provide the bite. Perhaps it is just a friendship of convenience or perhaps she really just likes the way Cross talks.

Bliss is also great at the craft of creating a character, so it could be that Creative wants her to have an ally or lackey. Certain stars have done well with 'muscle' like Shawn Michaels and Diesel and Daniel Bryan and Rowan. Perhaps Bliss is going to get some unhinged muscle.

#4 To challenge for the Women's Tag Team titles

Is a tag title shot in their future once Bliss is medically cleared?

As a member of the main roster, Bliss has already won both the Raw and SmackDown Women's Titles. She was the first woman to win both titles, even before Charlotte Flair. So what else is there for her to accomplish?

She's also won and cashed in a Money in the Bank briefcase but hasn't won a Royal Rumble. The next plausible mountain for Bliss to climb would be to capture the Women's Tag Team Titles.

Most of the females in WWE have had or currently have an ally - Naomi had Natalya and Carmella briefly. Bayley and Sasha Banks were a team. Fire and Desire are friends. The IIconics have been by each other's sides for years.

Instead of always pushing someone to the title (Flair), it can be a good detour to place them in side feuds so that people don't get tired of constant pushes to the title. A side campaign to become another Triple Crown winner for the women, like Bayley, could be an accolade that Bliss is striving for. Cross might just be her partner to do that with.

#3 To eventually turn on Nikki Cross

Is 'the Goddess' playing the long con with Nikki Cross?

Some people and wrestlers like to play games with others. There's literally a comic book character in the Marvel Universe who does this called the Grandmaster. He constantly pits heroes against villains and heroes against heroes in order to both win bets or to prove a point. While Bliss is a Goddess in name, she isn't an actual cosmic entity.

But that doesn't mean she doesn't get some sort of sick pleasure from toying with people. Maybe since things changed a lot on Raw after the Superstar Shakeup, she needs a new challenge since she's out of the Raw Title picture. Nikki Cross is the new kid on the show and she wants to toy with her and teach her a hard lesson.

Or maybe she's just evil. Bliss has always been a heel and done everything in order to get whatever she wants. Cross might be a means to an end and once she is done with Cross, she (Bliss) will toss her to the side. It wouldn't be the first time she's led a friend on (Nia Jax) and it probably won't be the last time either.

#2 To keep her on TV while she works through injuries

Although she was the first woman to win both the Raw and SmackDown Women's titles, she has also had a tough run with injuries. She has suffered from a few concussions while on the main roster and a concussion is why she was not medically cleared to compete at MITB. She did compete in a match on this week's SmackDown and actually became the new challenger to Bayley for the SmackDown Women's Title.

She must have been cleared within the last week because all she did during her six-woman tag team match last week was stand ringside. One easy way to continually feature one of the better female performers on the mic was to find other ways to get her on-screen while she was hurt.

Previously, they used her as an adviser to Baron Corbin when he was interim-GM of Raw and she was also used as the host of WrestleMania 35. The partnership with Cross was a good way to both get exposure for Cross and also keep Bliss involved while hurt.

If it led to more segments/matches with the two as allies, it would only benefit both women. Bliss has been injury-prone, so her segments with Cross before MITB were a backup plan for MITB if Bliss was unable to compete.

#1 She's turning face

Are we seeing the start of a potential face turn for Bliss?

Usually, when Bliss is seen being nice to someone either in the ring or backstage, it's to serve her own purposes. She tried to get Jax to do her dirty work when she (Bliss) was Raw Women's Champion and she did the same on SmackDown with Mickie James.

It appeared to be the same case initially when Bliss and Cross conversed backstage and Bliss revealed that her luggage was lost. She was manipulating Cross into taking her spot in the four-way match that she was scheduled for. In reality, however, it was a way to write Bliss out of the match since she wasn't medically cleared to compete at that moment.

During a few 'A Moment of Bliss' segments, Cross was on set but Bliss would only acknowledge her presence because Cross was crowding her. 'The Goddess' also didn't act overly chummy with her. She took both cups of coffee for herself and did so again on Raw this week. But she did accompany Cross out to the ring for Cross' match with Peyton Royce.

It might have been more of as a way to stick it to the IIconics, but it could also be the start of a potential face turn. She's never been a face on the main roster, and due to her size, she would be easy to root for as an underdog. Even Lacey Evans mocked her size when she appeared once during 'A Moment of Bliss.'

A face turn could be a refreshing storyline for Bliss as it was for Seth Rollins after Triple H attacked him and prevented him from winning the Universal Championship. Not every Superstar can pull off both roles, but if she is turning face, Bliss is someone who can.
