His character needs a new arc

In the last few months, it seems as though McIntyre has lost the momentum that he had gained since returning to the main roster. For starters, he lost his WrestleMania 35 bout clean against Roman Reigns; the latter was was participating in his first singles match back after being diagnosed with Leukemia.

After that, he hasn’t gotten anyone specific to feud against and has been used more as a partner to Baron Corbin and Bobby Lashley, rather than doing something significant as a singles star.

In recent weeks, his on-and-off relationship with Baron Corbin, who has been getting the upper hand on McIntyre lately, took another absurd turn when he paired up with the Lone Wolf to help Sami Zayn win his match against Braun Strowman. The way that match ended – with Zayn, McIntyre and Corbin pinning Strowman together – it could be argued that the Scottish Psychopath was used as a means to show how strong Strowman is.

So far, it looks like he is playing second fiddle to Corbin, and that needs to change or else all the good work put into developing his character would be lost.

And the best way to revive it is by making him win the MITB Ladder Match and going on to successfully cash it in.
