While RAW has several credible babyfaces with Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Braun Strowman, Kurt Angle, etc, Smackdown is lacking sorely in this aspect. AJ Styles just finished a feud with Daniel Bryan, Mustafa Ali is still relatively new to the roster, while Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio are in the twilight of their careers.
New Day's tremendous popularity with the audiences worldwide and their natural charisma makes them a viable candidate to fill the babyface role. Kofi Kingston has been a top babyface for years now, and his popularity knows no bounds.
WWE will like to shake things up during the Shakeup and fill the roster with more babyfaces, but until then, Kofi Kingston remains the perfect candidate to contest in the WWE Championship match.
