#2 Put over a young talent

Cena has always been a selfless top guy

One of the greatest aspects of John Cena’s legacy is that he used his last few years at the top to put over many younger talents. Names like Kevin Owens, Finn Balor, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and AJ Styles come to mind. He put them all over cleanly and elevated them to main event status. In a world title feud, John Cena’s star power could help WWE establish some of the company’s current brightest stars.

Lest we forget, Cena’s last title run was used to put Bray Wyatt over in the build-up to Wrestlemania 33. Cena’s 16th title reign literally lasted a mere two weeks before he dropped the title at Elimination Chamber. If that wasn’t enough, he put over Wyatt again the next night in a Triple Threat Match despite not even having to take the pinfall. In this current age, a Cena title run could be used to take the likes of Ricochet, Baron Corbin and even Kofi Kingston to the next level.

#1 To be solidified as the GOAT

As a 16-time world champion, no man has won more world championships than the Cenation leader. That’s rarefied territory that he only shares with Ric Flair, but to be solidified as the greatest of all time, Cena needs that precious seventeenth.

When fans hear the phrase 16-time world champion, they think of Ric Flair first before John Cena. There’s never been another top guy in history that’s worked as many dates or was as consistent as John Cena in his decade plus run at the top of the mountain.Taking his hard work and dedication into consideration, John Cena deserves better. Considering all he’s done for the company in both service and in furthering the brand, it’s only right he gets this special recognition by standing alone as a seventeen time world champion.
