5 Reasons why this week made WrestleMania 35 more interesting

It sure feels like WrestleMania season now!

Wow! What an unexpectedly great RAW and SmackDown we saw this week. It was only a couple of days ago that fans were complaining about the "not so interesting" development of storylines and how this year's WrestleMania might not be good.

What does WWE do? Give us two memorable episodes of RAW and SmackDown! From announced returns of WWE superstars to a grand celebration being ruined in a classic way by an unannounced return to unexpected changes in storylines, this week had it all.

Episodes like these make us realize why we love pro wrestling and why WrestleMania season is the best time to be a wrestling fan. There's nothing as huge as this. Nothing as exciting as this, if booked properly of course.

In this article let's take a look at the 5 booking decisions this week that have made WrestleMania 35 way more exciting than what it was. Feel free to comment your thoughts and let us know what did you like the most this week on WWE programming.

#5 Becky gets arrested, Ronda lays down the RAW Women's Championship

What does this mean for the RAW Women's Title match at WrestleMania 35?
What does this mean for the RAW Women's Title match at WrestleMania 35?

This is arguably the biggest angle heading into WrestleMania this year, and, hence, definitely deserves to Main Event the show. Every week fans eagerly wait to see how this story will develop further, and WWE deserves credit for making it more and more exciting every week.

This week, Becky Lynch interfered in Ronda Rousey's match to attack her but was arrested and escorted out of the arena, in typical Stone Cold fashion. I personally felt this wasn't the best segment of their rivalry.

But what happened after that made the clash at Mania more interesting. Ronda, being fed up from the constant interference, asked to reinstate Becky into the Title match at Mania only to be rejected by Stephanie McMahon. To this, Ronda laid down the title in the middle of the ring and left the arena.

The direction seems to be going eventually towards a triple threat at WrestleMania, but such booking surely made it more interesting for us fans to tune in next week to see where will this story go next?

#4 Kevin Owens returns and replaces Kofi in the FastLane Title match

Triple threat at WrestleMania?
Triple threat at WrestleMania?

As mentioned before, this week was full of returns and surprises, something you expect every week during the build-up of WrestleMania.

During the contract signing between Kofi Kingston and Daniel Bryan this week on SmackDown, Vince replaced Kofi in the FastLane title match with the returning Kevin Owens. Now this change can lead to a lot of different angles for WrestleMania.

It was definitely sad to see Kofi being robbed of his title opportunity, but this may very well mean that WWE is saving Kofi's big moment for a bigger stage, hopefully, WrestleMania.

Two most likely outcomes of this change could be the original Kofi vs Bryan for the WWE Championship happening at WrestleMania or a triple threat between these two and Kevin Owens.

As much as Kofi deserves a one-on-one match for the title at WrestleMania, adding Owens would definitely increase the star-power and match-quality. A classic triple threat at Mania would make the WWE Championship a huge deal.

In the end, we all hope Kofi does get his WrestleMania moment.

#3 Roman Reigns return, possible Shield Reunion?

Will the hounds of justice reunite?
Will the hounds of justice reunite?

Roman Reigns returned to RAW this week after being forced to relinquish his Universal Championship 4 months ago due to his returning Leukemia. It was a great sight to see fans cheering for the Big Dog as he announced that he's in remission.

With Roman's return announced last week, speculation started off yet another Shield reunion. During RAW this week, Roman and Seth did actually come down to save Dean from a beating from Elias, Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin, and Bobby Lashley.

The save was successful, but just when we thought the brothers would reunite again, Seth and Reigns left the ring. Both of them stared at Dean in the ring, who had a weird smile on his face, before leaving.

With Dean Ambrose leaving WWE after WrestleMania this year, things sure got more interesting as fans are eager to see what's going on between these three. Will Dean apologize to his brothers and reunite the Shield? Or are we heading towards a clash between Dean and Reigns? We'll have to wait for next week's RAW to get some of these answers.

#2 Styles vs Orton at WrestleMania 35

Will these two legends clash at WrestleMania 35?
Will these two legends clash at WrestleMania 35?

AJ Styles and Randy Orton is one of the biggest rivalries that we are yet to see in WWE. Both of these legends have accomplished so much in their careers and a clash between the two deserves a huge stage, and what better than WrestleMania!

In one of my previous articles, I've discussed how this has the potential to be one of the biggest rivalries this year in WWE. Last time these two had a match, the dynamics were completely opposite as Styles was the heel and Orton was the babyface.

This time around, Orton has transformed himself into his sick and vicious side and is trying to get into the head of the Phenomenal One.

One huge reason fans will tune into this match is to see Orton counter the Phenomenal Forearm into a beautiful mid-air RKO. But that's not the only reason, these two superstars are so experienced to put on a classic and build a feud that gets everyone's attention.

With both of them out of the WWE Title picture as of now, WWE surely seems to be heading towards a clash between these two wrestling icons at this year's Showcase of Immortals.

#1 Batista returns to get Triple H's "attention"

This was one of the most exciting returns recently!
This was one of the most exciting returns recently!

Easily the biggest shocker of the week, 'The Animal' Batista appeared backstage during Ric Flair's Birthday Celebration on RAW and attacked The Nature Boy. With many people expecting Becky to ruin the celebration, it was great to see WWE surprising us all with the big return of Batista.

Though I predicted Batista's return in my article, I surely did not expect him to return as a vicious heel and attack Ric Flair. His words after the attack "Hey Hunter, do I have your attention now?" made me remember the good old Attitude Era feuds.

After their segment on SmackDown 1000 last year, Batista vs Triple H was highly rumored to happen at WrestleMania 35, and this week's RAW indicated us that WWE is heading towards that path only.

With what was one of the besting endings to RAW in a long time, everyone is excited to know how will Triple H respond to this challenge from Batista? Will we see a showdown between the two of them next week? Or maybe even better, an all-out brawl? This surely will be a huge rivalry heading into WrestleMania this year.
