5 shocking things WWE hinted at during the Royal Rumble

What does Becky Lynch's Royal Rumble win mean for her future?
What does Becky Lynch's Royal Rumble win mean for her future?

What a pay per view! WWE deserve a lot of credit for everything they pulled off during The Royal Rumble pay per view and although the event wasn't without its hiccups, it really did a lot to get fans excited about the upcoming road to WrestleMania. Beyond that, it showed what WWE can do when it is firing on all cylinders, which is admittedly scary.

What was even scarier was that the company seemed to put all the pieces perfectly in place for the upcoming road to WrestleMania and all the possibilities that may come into play between now and then. If nothing else, it's a great time to be a wrestling fan and WWE's performance at the Royal Rumble is proof of that.

With that being said and the first big four pay per view of the year finally in the books, here are five things WWE hinted at during the Royal Rumble pay per view. As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below and be sure to tell us what you believe WWE hinted at during Royal Rumble pay per view

#5 Becky Lynch moving to Monday Night Raw

Could Becky Lynch move to Monday Night Raw to settle the score with Ronda Rousey?
Could Becky Lynch move to Monday Night Raw to settle the score with Ronda Rousey?

Is Becky Lynch heading to Monday Night Raw?

While that might have sounded like crazy talk a few months ago, Becky Lynch winning the Women's Royal Rumble and Ronda Rousey retaining her Raw Women's title against Sasha Banks, the move seems more likely than ever. In fact, there seems to be no other way for WWE to get to a match between Rousey and Lynch at this point.

Think about it! What would make Ronda Rousey come to Smackdown Live while she is still the Raw Women's champion? Furthermore, what are the chances of her losing the Raw Women's title between now and WrestleMania 35 in order for Rousey to make the jump to the blue brand?

In the end, all signs point to Lynch challenging Rousey for the Raw Women's title at WrestleMania 35 and then becoming Monday Night Raw exclusive after the pay per view. Of course, WWE could always move Rousey to Smackdown Live after that, especially with the new deal with Fox Sports coming up, but it seems like Lynch will be moving permanently to Raw.

#4 Rusev falling out of the title picture

Is Rusev day coming to an end?
Is Rusev day coming to an end?

Rusev suffered a brutal loss to Shinsuke Nakamura during the Royal Rumble kick off show and one has to wonder what this means for the future of The Bulgarian Brute. Unfortunately for Rusev, there are no longer any automatic rematch clauses, which means that if he wants another shot, he will have to earn it.

With that being said, WWE also hinted at a mini-feud between Shinsuke Nakamura and Mustafa Ali during the men's Royal Rumble match and that might just be the direction the company is heading in. Of course, that would mean that Rusev would have to go through Ali for another title shot, but it doesn't seem like there's much chance of him accomplishing that.

In fact, with the absolutely jaw-dropping way WWE is currently booking Rusev, and Ali earning a swift elimination on Nakamura during the Royal Rumble, it looks like Ali will be Nakamura's next challenger. What that means for Rusev is anyone's guess, but expect him to fall out of the title picture relatively soon.

#3 Daniel Bryan forming a cult

Could Daniel Bryan be the next Bray Wyatt?
Could Daniel Bryan be the next Bray Wyatt?

Daniel Bryan retained his WWE Championship against AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble, but it didn't happen without a little interference from a returning Erik Rowan. With that being said and the obvious history that Rowan and Bryan share with each other in The Wyatt Family, does this mean that Bryan is now a cult leader?

While that might sound ridiculous, Bryan's heel character has gotten preachy as of late and it's not like pairing the two together doesn't make sense. In fact, with Bryan needing to add another layer to his character, and Rowan needing something to do until his tag team partner, Luke Harper, recovers from injury, this could be a match made in heaven.

Of course, it might not last for the long term and could just be a temporary plan until WWE transitions into what's next, but they need to do something to explain why Rowan would help Bryan win the match. Otherwise, it would just be a pointless interference for the sake of a pointless interference and nothing further.

#2 Charlotte Flair versus Asuka at WrestleMania 35

Will The WWE Universe see Asuka versus Charlotte part two at The Royal Rumble?
Will The WWE Universe see Asuka versus Charlotte part two at The Royal Rumble?

Charlotte Flair versus Asuka, who wins?

WrestleMania rematches don't happen very often, but when they do, they are usually very special to watch. Take John Cena versus The Rock at WrestleMania 28 and 29 for example, where WWE was able to tell two compelling stories despite the matches being exactly the same on paper.

Interestingly enough, WWE has the chance to tell a similar type of story between Asuka and Charlotte Flair at this year's WrestleMania and it would be foolish not to take advantage of it. Not only is that evident by the way WWE can book Asuka as the underdog champion heading into WrestleMania 35, but also by how they can book Charlotte as a sinister heel.

If nothing else, this is a story that deserves to get told again and the elements are all there to tell it perfectly. Furthermore, giving Asuka a chance to avenge her very first loss in WWE at the world's biggest stage would be a monumental way to get her career back on track. It could even cement her as one of the greatest superstars of all time.

#1 WWE inserting Finn Balor into the WM 35 title picture

Does Finn Balor deserve a rematch against Brock Lesnar?
Does Finn Balor deserve a rematch against Brock Lesnar?

It's no secret that Finn Balor deserves a rematch after taking Brock Lesnar to the limit during their Universal championship match and Lesnar's post-match assault could guarantee that it happens! In fact, it could be just the excuse that WWE needs to insert Balor into The Universal title match at WrestleMania 35.

Whether WWE actually goes that route or not remains to be seen and will be dependent on what the company wants to do, but the post-match assault seems pointless if Balor doesn't get another chance at The Beast. Beyond that, Balor not getting another shot at Lesnar could be a momentum killer for him on the road to WrestleMania.

In the end, Balor has proven himself as a main event contender once again and WWE should really use that to build Balor into the world title picture at WrestleMania 35. If not, they could risk having a situation similar to that of WrestleMania 30, when the company tried to avoid putting Daniel Bryan into the title picture.

As for how WWE does it, the company already seems to have their sights set on Rollins versus Lesnar at the Royal Rumble. especially after Rollins won the Royal Rumble but that doesn't mean WWE can't insert him in there somewhere.

In fact, maybe WWE could have Balor face Rollins for a shot in the title match, have Lesnar interrupt the finish and put the three on a collision course that way. At least that way, the WWE Universe can get what they want with Balor in the title picture, also have Rollins in the title picture at the same time and set up a hell of Triple threat for WrestleMania 35.
