Before Goldberg appeared on RAW tonight, it looked almost certain that he will feud with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 37. During his appearance on WWE's The Bump, the Hall of Famer claimed that he's coming after Roman Reigns. However, there was a massive fan outburst following that on social media.

Considering how well Roman Reigns' 'Tribal Chief' storyline has been going on SmackDown, putting him in a match against Goldberg might turn fans against him again. Goldberg winning the WWE Championship could keep him away from Roman Reigns for the time being, while also ensuring that he stays on the card of WrestleMania in a big match.

Goldberg has had an incredible pro wrestling career. Even after his return to WWE in 2016, he has achieved a lot of feats. However, one achievement that has alluded him in his career so far is winning the WWE Championship.

Considering how well his relationship with Vince McMahon has been ever since his return in 2016, it won't be shocking to see McMahon finally give him a run with the WWE title at Royal Rumble 2021. As great of a champion Drew McIntyre has been, Goldberg probably brings more mainstream attention to WWE.
