WWE had a difficult year in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, having to revert from arena shows to behind-closed-doors sets.

With that came innovation from WWE management, and they decided to reinvent the Money in the Bank ladder match slightly.

Rules changed for 2020, with the men's and women's matches taking place at the same time, with the briefcases suspended at the top of WWE Headquarters in Stamford, CT. Yes, you read that correctly.

Both matches started at the bottom of WWE Headquarters as the superstars fought their way to the top.

It was when they were scrambling at the top of the ladder that it was time to walk with Elias, as the guitar playing maestro appeared, whilst AJ Styles and Baron Corbin both unlocked the briefcase.

Elias hit them with the guitar, and the briefcase was fumbled down into the hands of Otis who became Mr Money in the Bank.

Elias had been feuding with Baron Corbin prior to the match, and it was only fitting he didn't allow the former 'King' the opportunity to capture the briefcase.
