5 Superstars who could retire Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 35

One of the most storied careers in the WWE, Kurt Angle has achieved all there is to achieve in WWE and pro wrestling, but the former Olympic hero still seems to want more.

Angle returned to the WWE in 2017 after being away from the promotion for over a decade. And after a run as RAW GM, Angle wrestled in his first match at the 2017 TLC PPV, which was his first match in the WWE in nearly 11 years.

Since then, Angle has wrestled quite a few times and is currently in a feud with Baron Corbin and Drew McIntyre, both Superstars who have brutalised the WWE Hall of Famer.

All the reports indicate that Angle will retire from the WWE at WrestleMania 35, following a recent segment on RAW where he teased a retirement.

The 50-year-old deserves a great sending off at the biggest stage of them all - WrestleMania. Which 5 Superstars could retire Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 35? Let's take a look:

#1 Elias

Elias is one WWE Superstar who is destined to have a good career, with his entertaining guitar gimmick, as well as good skills in the ring.

Elias is over with the WWE Universe, but for him to take it to the next level, a good outing at WrestleMania could work wonders for him.

Angle and Elias have not wrestled yet in WWE, but that could change in the months leading up to WrestleMania. With the guitar-wielding Superstar turning heel recently, and him not having any feuds currently, Angle and Elias at WrestleMania 35 could be a great way to put over an up-and-coming star, as well as give the WWE Hall of Famer a great farewell from the WWE.

#2 Baron Corbin

Kurt Angle and Baron Corbin have a great history. Corbin was the reason that Angle was sent on vacation when he was RAW GM, but Angle got his retribution when he returned to the WWE dressed as a Mexican luchador, eliminating Corbin from a battle royal on RAW.

Since then, Corbin and Angle have feuded on and off, with McIntyre joining hands with Corbin to get one over Angle.

A match between Corbin and Angle at WrestleMania 35 could end the feud which has been bitter and personal between the two RAW Superstars. Perhaps WWE could add put the two Superstars in an "I Quit" match, where the loser also leaves the WWE.

Corbin has enormous heat on him currently, while Angle is a much-loved figure on RAW, which works very well for the storyline, and we could see the two put on an interesting match at WrestleMania 35.

#3 EC3

EC3 and Kurt Angle have wrestled previously on Impact Wrestling

Much like Baron Corbin, EC3 and Kurt Angle have unfinished business, having feuded previously on Impact Wrestling a few years ago, for the World Heavyweight title.

WWE announced a few months ago that EC3 would debut on the main roster, but have still not revealed if he will be on RAW or SmackDown, despite wrestling on RAW, against Dean Ambrose, winning one match and losing the other.

While we aren't sure where his future lies, the hints suggest that RAW could be where EC3 will end up on the main roster. EC3 has huge experience in pro wrestling and has all the ingredients to be a huge star on RAW.

A short feud with Angle makes sense, considering their past, while a large part of the WWE Universe who may not know of him will get a taste of what he can offer, following a WM35 match with Angle.

#4 Drew McIntyre

Another one who has history with Kurt Angle, Drew McIntyre and Angle have had feuds in TNA, as well as more recently on RAW. In that match on RAW, McIntyre brutalised Angle, in what seemed like a huge push for the Scottish Superstar.

Many expect McIntyre to hold a title by the end of 2019, and that push could come after another dominant performance at WrestleMania 35, against Kurt Angle.

Backstage reports suggested that the McIntyre-Angle match on RAW was Angle's idea to put over the Scottish Psychopath, and perhaps Angle will have the opportunity to pick his last opponent in WWE, which could be McIntyre.

McIntyre has the physique, the presence, as well as the mic skills to become a huge star in WWE, and he can't ask for a better opponent at The Show of Shows than Angle.

#5 Chad Gable

This is a very left-field choice, but there could be a chance that Chad Gable could face off against Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 35, in a match that could change the fortunes for Gable.

Gable, like Angle, has been an accomplished amateur wrestler, while also taking to the rigours of WWE with ease. Gable has often been compared to Angle, and many also believed that he could have been the illegitimate son, which was later revealed to be Jason Jordan.

Gable had a decent run as RAW tag team champions alongside Bobby Roode, but I believe that his phenomenal in-ring work must be utilised and he should be given a run as a singles star.

A match against Kurt Angle would be the perfect way for Angle to leave WWE and also put over a star-in-the-making in Chad Gable.
