The Undertaker has been WWE's torchbearer for a long time. Ever since his debut in 1990, The Deadman has been a vital part of every era in WWE. 'Taker's career has been glorified with not only championships but also with the respect he gets from every fellow wrestler. Indeed, WWE's Mount Rushmore is unimaginable without The Phenom.

However, all good things must come to an end. At the age of 53, Undertaker does not have much left in the tank. While Brock Lesnar did conquer The Streak at WrestleMania XXX, the brand value of Undertaker is still a lot more than his streak. So if The Last Outlaw decides to put his hat down for one last time, it should be against an opponent worthy enough for it.

Here are 5 Superstars who deserve to retire The Deadman.

#5 Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman has shared the ring with The Phenom on multiple occasions.
Braun Strowman has shared the ring with The Phenom on multiple occasions.

WWE has always had a liking to giant wrestlers. Andre the Giant, Undertaker, Kane, Big Show and The Great Khali are examples of such wrestlers whom WWE have pushed to a great extent. However, ever since Big Show, WWE has struggled to find one such giant who was equally liked by the fans and critics.

The search finally came to an end with the arrival of Braun Strowman. In the past few years, The Monster Among Men has proved that he isn't just another powerhouse in the ring. Strowman's ability to win the crowd support has also made him one of the top face of Monday Night Raw.

Strowman isn't a stranger to Undertaker. While he feuded with the Brothers of Destruction along with The Wyatt family, he also had few confrontations with The Deadman during the build-up of the latter's match with Roman Reigns. The confrontation led many to predict a future match between the two and perhaps we should have one before Undertaker hangs up his boot.

#4 Kane

Kane has faced the Undertaker at Wrestlemania twice.
Kane has faced the Undertaker at Wrestlemania twice.

Considering the history that Kane shares with The Undertaker, Kane retiring The Demon of Death Valley will be a fitting tribute to the careers of Undertaker, Kane and the late Paul Bearer. The Big Red Machine was introduced as Undertaker's half brother, and since then has been involved in various angles with The Phenom and Paul Bearer.

Kane has both stood against and with The Lord of Darkness. Together, the Brothers of Destruction have won the WWF Tag Team Championship twice. As an opponent, the Devil's Favourite Demon has challenged Undertaker at WrestleMania twice. However, just like the 'Taker, Kane is also way past his prime.

While Kane has been more active than his kayfabe brother, it isn't wrong to say that his last few runs with the company have been rather meaningless. Kane is a legend in his own right and there is no better send off for The Big Red Machine than to end the career of Undertaker

#3 John Cena

John Cena was squashed by the Undertaker in under 3 minutes at Wrestlemania 34.

John Cena vs. The Undertaker isn't an idea that has just arrived. People have been craving for a match between the two for a long time. While the Cenation Leader never had the chance to challenge The Undertaker for his streak, he did finally battle The Phenom at WrestleMania 34.

The match, however, was a short one as Undertaker made a quick work of the former Doctor of Thuganomics. The Undertaker shockingly squashed the Cena in under three minutes. The short match hinted at a possible rematch between the two.

We were unlucky to not see a Streak vs Career match between the two but we can get a Career vs Career match between two of the greatest wrestlers in the company's history. Although quite predictable, the match would still be a roller coaster of emotions for generations of wrestling fans.

#2 Finn Balor

The Demon King Finn Balor is yet to be defeated on the main roster.
The Demon King Finn Balor is yet to be defeated on the main roster.

One of the biggest achievements of Undertaker's career is to portray a supernatural gimmick to perfection for almost three decades. Finn Balor's Demon King persona is the closest thing we have right now to the Undertaker's Deadman gimmick. WWE and Balor have done a great job in protecting this gimmick till now.

This feud will lead to a thrilling storyline between two supernatural characters and will bring shades of the classic Undertaker we haven't seen a while. Finn Balor recently stated in an interview with Inside the Ropes that Undertaker and Brock Lesnar are two of his dream opponents.

While Balor did earn the right to face the latter for the Universal Championship at Royal Rumble, a match with The Deadman is still a little too far. The win could prove to be a huge boost for the career of Finn Balor, who could be the next face of the company.

#1 Drew McIntyre

Drew Mcintyre is destined for a big push in 2019.
Drew Mcintyre is destined for a big push in 2019.

Drew Mcintyre has impressed everyone since his return to the company in 2017. It is evident that WWE has big things planned for him. WWE has been careful to protect McIntyre during his present run. The Chosen One has been pinned only twice on the main roster, each time due to outside interference.

McIntyre has been kept away from the Universal Championship which only means that WWE wants to build him furthermore before he finally captures the coveted title. In his impressive run, Mcintyre also had a big win over Kurt Angle where he made the latter tap out to his own finishing move, the Ankle Lock.

The Chosen One has the size, intensity and the attitude to be a huge draw. Drew Mcintyre is the perfect villain to end the story of Undertaker. The win would cement Mcintyre as the biggest heel of the company.
