5 Superstars WWE needs to get back on television

When will Sasha Banks return to WWE?
When will Sasha Banks return to WWE?

Let's be honest here.

WWE has gone above and beyond to make the overall product better and while they have largely succeeded in doing so, there are still a few holes the company needs to fill in. One of the biggest holes remaining however is the countless number of stars that are still waiting to be called back to television.

While it's understandable that WWE Superstars go through a cooling-off period after the climax of their respective runs, it also is not a good idea to keep Superstars on the shelf for too long. In fact, it could result in the Superstar losing any momentum they may have garnered during their latest run and make it easy for fans to forget about them.

With that being said and WWE still struggling to bring back or find something to do for their talent, here are five Superstars that the company need to get back on television. As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below and who you would like to see come back to television in the near future.

#5 Rusev

WWE needs to bring Rusev back immediately!
WWE needs to bring Rusev back immediately!

Believe it or not, there was a time when Rusev was an absolute killer in the mid-card and had some very high prospects for the future. He would even go on to win the United States Championship early in his career, go on a dominant run throughout the mid-card and even had a WrestleMania match against John Cena.

Of course, Rusev eventually lost the battle to The Cenation leader and ever since then, WWE has slowly begun to chip away at the monsters mystique. Unfortunately for Rusev, things only got worse when his Rusev Day gimmick died an uneventful death and he was taken off television after teaming with Shinsuke Nakamura for a bit.

Fast forward to today and Rusev hasn't been seen on television in months with no sign of that changing. Interestingly enough, neither has his real-life wife, Lana, which begs the question of what exactly WWE is doing with them and why the company isn't trying to use the duo to build up the midcard again.

#4 Lacey Evans

Whatever happened to Lacey Evans?
Whatever happened to Lacey Evans?

How do you forget Lacey Evans?

Seriously though, The Sassy Southern Belle hasn't been given much airtime after losing the winner takes all match at Extreme Rules and the company doesn't seem too eager to change that. Furthermore, they seem to be forgetting about a lot of their female talent that isn't involved in the immediate title picture on Raw, but Evans's absence seems the most bewildering.

With that being said and Evans being one of the best female talkers on Monday Night Raw, it is insane to think that the company would leave her on the sidelines for this long. Beyond all that, with Evans's military history, and her women's empowerment gimmick, one has to wonder why she isn't still front and center in the women's division.

Of course, Lacey Evans has already had her time to shine and is in a cooling-off period at this point, but that doesn't mean they can't continue to incorporate her into the product somehow. Whether that be with a talk show, as a manager or in some other role is up to WWE, but they need to do something!

#3 Sasha Banks

Sasha Banks would be a huge asset to WWE right now!
Sasha Banks would be a huge asset to WWE right now!

Sasha Banks hasn't been seen on WWE television since losing the tag team titles to The Iconics at WrestleMania 35 and some are wondering when or if she will be returning to the company. Beyond that, what are they going to do with her when they finally do get her back into a WWE ring?

Interestingly enough, an internal list seems to show Sasha Banks as a heel character on Monday Night Raw, which could point to her returning sooner rather than later. In fact, between Becky Lynch running out of opponents on Monday Night Raw and WWE's tendency to intermix storylines, a Sasha Banks return makes a lot of sense.

Maybe WWE could even use the rumors that have been circulating about Sasha Banks's behavior backstage to create a more realistic storyline. WWE could also bring Bayley into the mix as well, which will give the company a lot of booking options going forward.

#2 Baron Corbin

Why hasn't WWE done anything with Baron Corbin lately?
Why hasn't WWE done anything with Baron Corbin lately?

Baron Corbin is one of the most hated heels in WWE right now and while one would think that would be a good thing for the young star's future, it seems to have halted his career in its tracks. In fact, The WWE Universe seems to dislike Corbin to a point where they don't want him on their television.

Unfortunately for Corbin, there are also rumors that Raw's executive producer, Paul Heyman, doesn't really know what to do with him right now. Of course, that might change as time goes on and Monday Night Raw completes its transition into The Heyman/Bischoff Era, but it is really a shame not to have him apart of weekly programming.

In all honesty, Corbin is a high-quality talent and having him as a top heel would really be a benefit for the company going forward. It also allows for a promising young babyface to eventually beat him, which will feel deeply cathartic if the company can build up enough heel heat.

#1 Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey needs to reclaim her spot on the top of the mountain!
Ronda Rousey needs to reclaim her spot on the top of the mountain!

Ronda Rousey has been on hiatus from WWE since her loss to Becky Lynch in the main event of WrestleMania 35 and her absence is already being felt throughout WWE's programming. With that being said and rumors circulating about bringing Rousey back in mind, why not do it sooner rather than later?

While Rousey might be away at the moment, the company really needs to use her in some capacity in the meantime. Whether that turns out to be cutting promos from time to time or becoming a manager for another young star doesn't matter, what it does is making the former UFC star a part of the company's programming again.

In the end, it's names like Lesnar, Rousey, and Cena that is going to catch fans attention again and no matter what capacity they have Rousey in, having her on the show is a definite plus in the company's favor.
