How could CM Punk not show up at Survivor Series?
How could CM Punk not show up at Survivor Series?

WWE Survivor Series is already an event that's caused a great deal of buzz with RAW, SmackDown and NXT at war in the battle for brand supremacy. While we have seen a great number of surprises already, I do believe that there will be a lot more, as the event draws nearer.

In this article, I will illustrate 5 possible surprises that we could see at the show. Please let me know if you agree or disagree with me in the comments below and be sure to add your own surprises to the list as well because we at Sportskeeda Wrestling are always all ears for what you guys have to say.

With that said, here are 5 surprises that could happen at Survivor Series this year...

#5 CM Punk's music hits to cost Seth Rollins his big match

It is very clear that Seth Rollins is gunning for a match against CM Punk, possibly at WrestleMania 36. If that were to happen, I'm almost certain that Seth Rollins will have to turn heel but that's another story for another slide, I suppose. The most important thing that you have to remember is that Survivor Series this year is happening in Chicago, and CM stands for (among a million other terms) 'Chicago Made'.

CM Punk does not have to get into the ring. He just needs to show up for the arena to explode and for Seth Rollins to be pinned by Team NXT or Team SmackDown in the middle of the ring. It would kick-start the hottest feud of the year and maybe, the decade!

#4 Seth Rollins turns heel

Seth Rollins, more often than not, has the match of the night every single week. He does everything that a babyface should do and still does not get the love he deserves from the WWE Universe. In many ways, one may say that he's slipped into the same spot that his Shield Brother, Roman Reigns used to be in, once upon a time. To keep Seth Rollins fresh and interesting, maybe the need of the hour is to turn him heel!

A heel Seth Rollins can actually work with babyfaces in the roster from Ricochet, to Rusev, to Humberto Carillo and even Rey Mysterio and elevate the juniors while keeping the seniors relevant. And so, whether CM Punk shows up to distract him or not, I can totally see Seth Rollins losing the match for his team and then turning heel. It would be a very shocking development, but one that fans are thrilled about!

The only problem that can potentially arise from this move is that fans will start cheering for Seth Rollins once she decides to go heel.

#3 King Corbin turns on Roman Reigns during their match

I just think that there's no way that King Corbin and Roman Reigns can be allies on the same team if you consider the fact that the two men are bitter rivals. I mean even if you look at team RAW, there are babyfaces and there's a heel in Drew McIntyre and there's the unpredictable element of Randy Orton, but the members aren't part of an ongoing red-hot feud.

So King Corbin brings out people in dog suits to make fun of The Big Dog every week and even barks like a dog in cringeworthy moments on WWE SmackDown. I think that it is very possible indeed that just when Roman Reigns is about to pick up a victory for his team, Corbin ensures he gets eliminated.

I mean if you think about it, I doubt that Roman Reigns will be the last man standing for his team anyway considering he's not as pushed now as he used to be. How do you eliminate him in a manner that still has him look strong and absolutely bulletproof?

You have Corbin turn on him, betraying his teammate. That's the only way!

#2 Ronda Rousey helps Shayna Baszler win

Ronda Rousey elevated the WWE Women's Division to a position where they managed to main event WrestleMania in a historic match. And then, she would disappear on a long leave of absence to start a family. I don't think there's a better place for her to return than at Survivor Series 2019!

Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Bayley and Sasha Banks will be a part of the card and so will Shayna Baszler, who I assume will have her two cronies- Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke to egg her on! With the return of Ronda Rousey, there would be the setup for the Four Horsewomen vs. Four Horsewomen match that fans have wanted for such a long time to actually take place at a stage like WrestleMania 36.

Ronda Rousey's return will also allow for Shayna Baszler to pick up a victory in such a manner that it has the 2 champions of WWE's 'main roster' look strong. NXT needs a big win and it can come at the cost of two established stars like Bayley and Becky Lynch if it is established that they lost because of Rousey's interference.

#1 Kevin Owens betrays Team RAW, joins NXT full-time

Kevin Owens and Drew McIntyre were part of one of the best matches on RAW in quite some time earlier this week. It was a back and forth affair that had fans at the edge of their seats in a contest that could have gone either way.

And then, Lemmy's distorted bass guitar and whiskey-soaked voice would be heard on the loudspeakers, as Triple H made his way to the ring and made an offer to Kevin Owens. It was the same offer that he had made to Seth Rollins, to become a part of Team NXT, the brand where he first earned his stripes and became a household name.

I doubt that WWE can afford to send their top star in Rollins to NXT for a run but I do believe that they can certainly do the same with Kevin Owens. RAW already has a stacked roster and Owens will bring a lot more value to NXT than he does to RAW, at this particular stage at least.

So, the final surprise I'll list involves him turning his back on his team and joining NXT.
