In the weeks preceding the PPV, Riddle always came up short with Bobby Lashley and got resoundingly beaten down by him on more than one occasion. However, the US Champion has momentum on his side now. If Lashley wins the WWE Championship next week, The Original Bro can challenge him for a match at Fastlane 2021.
Yes, at Elimination Chamber, Riddle did not get the pin over Lashley, but he did technically defeat him. So it makes sense if he claims a shot at the WWE Championship. While nobody expects Riddle to become the champion, he can at least have a fun encounter with Bobby Lashley.
