#1 Karrion Kross will be hard to beat after TakeOver: In Your House

Part of the build for TakeOver: In Your House involved Adam Cole claiming that Kross has been treated as a big deal since joining NXT. Since he's a bigger star, bookers have given his act "the girl" and a grandiose entrance.

That may be true, but Kross is a different type of character to Cole. Cole has acted as this generation's Shawn Michaels - brash and braggadocious but electric in the ring. Kross is a very different kind of star.

Since Cole is always a colourful and arrogant character, the fans may root for him against particular stars. Kross would fall into that category. Cole has carried NXT for nearly four years so he has history on his side.

Even with that history, however, Kross was able to overcome four other men at TakeOver: In Your House. Both he and Gonzalez have been presented as dominant forces and champions that can beat anyone.

When he choked out Kyle O'Reilly to retain his title at TakeOver: In Your House, he technically defeated four other men. Kross can now claim to have beaten Pete Dunne, O'Reilly, Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano. It might not have been in one-on-one action, but he's still the NXT Champion.

The competitors that were not part of the decision at TakeOver: In Your House will still clamor for a singles match with Kross. But with so many hard-fought wins over NXT stalwarts like Finn Balor, Keith Lee and O'Reilly, is there anyone in NXT that can dethrone Kross?

Kross will likely face Dunne, Cole or Gargano at the Great American Bash. The money is on Cole or Dunne. With the way that he has been booked, however, will he ever lose a match in NXT?

Like Gonzalez, he could be promoted without losing the belt. He would simply relinquish it as Asuka did when she was promoted. NXT can then book a series of matches to crown a new Champion. Kross is more ready for the main roster than Gonzalez as he had a prior run on TV with IMPACT Wrestling.

In order to present him as a big deal, Kross may never lose the title in an NXT match. After beating four of the best that NXT has to offer, that is becoming more and more of a possibility.
