Paige has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately. Firstly, her relationship with Alberto Del Rio has not been met with positive reviews from the wrestling circle and secondly, the back to back suspensions have not been doing her any good as well.
Rumours suggest that Paige is seeking a way out of her WWE contract and it wouldn’t be a surprise if the promotion decides to give her marching orders. The way that she is handling her social media accounts suggests that the release would come sooner or later.
However, getting released from the WWE will not be the end of Paige. As she is just 24, she still has a long life ahead of her where she can try out a string of things.
In this list, we are going to take a look at the things that Paige could do if she is fired by WWE.
#5 Venture into MMA
This might sound like a bad idea considering how the MMA debut of CM Punk went. But unlike Punk, Paige has a string of things working for her. First of all, Paige is just 24-years-old. It is still a good age to get into MMA. Punk, on the other hand, was 37-years-old at the time that he made his professional debut.
The second thing working in favour of Paige is Alberto Del Rio. As you would’ve already noted, Del Rio was recently appointed as the President of Hispanic MMA promotion, Combate Americas. Paige wouldn’t have trouble getting a contract with the promotion and thanks to her wrestling background; she is going to be a draw as well.
#4 Start a Podcast with Alberto Del Rio
Starting a podcast is something that all wrestlers do these days. While certain names like Chris Jericho and Goldberg have successfully mastered the art, there are wrestlers out there that are struggling. Though Paige and Del Rio have a big chance of falling into the latter category, this podcast is something that the fans would tune into.
Why? Because, as the title of Eric Bischoff’s autobiography suggests: Controversy creates cash. The British accent Paige and the Spanish accent of Alberto Del Rio combining would be a joy for the ears along with the controversial vibes. What should be the podcast called? Well, that’s a question for the comments section.
#3 Write a book
The fact that Paige is just 24-years-old has been thrown around a lot in the list already. However, unlike the regular 24-year-old girls out there, Paige has had a lengthy stay in the wrestling business. After being born into a prominent wrestling family in England, Paige kick started her wrestling career at the age of 13.
A decade later, she might at the doors of a WWE exit, but ten years of wrestling experience is something that is worth noting down.
She knows what it’s like to wrestle in Europe, she knows what it’s like to wrestle in the American Independent scene and she also knows what it’s like to wrestle in the WWE. All these experiences are good enough to be on a book.
#2 Settle down and start a family
Although it is not completely true, Alberto Del Rio has been pointed out as the reason for Paige’s fallout with WWE.
The backstage officials in WWE were reportedly not pleased with Paige hanging out with Del Rio and there are also claims that Del Rio is responsible for the Wellness policy violations. But as they say, Love is blind and Paige is where she is now today.
So if Paige does not want to venture into other things, she could simply settle down and have a family with Del Rio. The problem with this would be Del Rio’s ex-wife who recently released a statement through her lawyer saying that Del Rio is still married.
#1 Take up bookings in the independent scene
This is the most obvious entry in the list. If Paige cannot wrestle in WWE, she could wrestle outside of it. There are a lot of promotions out there that would love to have Paige on their roster and as for Paige, she could improve her resume by appearing in various companies like Lucha Underground, Impact Wrestling, Ring of Honor and many others.
Her family also runs shows back in the United Kingdom, while Alberto Del Rio’s influence in Mexico could get her jobs in there as well. In short, if Paige leaves WWE, she wouldn’t have to sweat much to find wrestling gigs for her due to the connections that she has.
