5 Things That Must Happen At TLC 2018

It's been an indifferent year for WWE, many things have just not gone their way and they have come under heavy criticism for some really lacklustre shows that they have put together. Even the ratings have suffered big time with Raw consistently recording Lowest ever after lowest-ever ratings.

Some of it could be put down to the spate of injuries that WWE has had to deal with on a consistent basis. Roman Reigns is out, Braun Strowman was away from action for a while, Kevin Owens will also take some time to recover from his ankle injury, the list just goes on and on and on.

But then at the same time, quite a bit of it comes down to the creative team as well. When you have an abundance of talent and you're not able to use them judiciously then that's a flaw on your end. The extent to which Roman Reigns was pushed is just one such example.

To set itself on the path to recovery which starts with the last PPV of the year, TLC, following things must happen for the situation to not get worse.

#1 Baron Corbin must lose his powers of being a General Manager Elect

Let's face it, Baron Corbin with the mic is not a pleasant site and by day in and day out having him consistently kick off the Monday Night Raw has led to a certain level of disgruntlement for the former "Constable" of Raw.

He's not good on the mic and if the purpose of letting him abuse his powers was to piss off the audience, then it has worked wonders already as he has too much heat generated against him and if he didn't somehow lose to Braun Strowman this TLC then it would turn off the audience even more which would probably not be the most desirable thing to do.

#2 Dean Ambrose must beat Seth Rollins

All the promos, all the new mannerisms, all the talk, and all the beating dished out to Seth Rollins would amount to nothing if Dean can't win the gold
All the promos, all the new mannerisms, all the talk, and all the beating dished out to Seth Rollins would amount to nothing if Dean can't win the gold

You don't have to look too far. There are just too many examples already on the roster. Bray Wyatt, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Samoa Joe to name a few are the wrestlers who were heels and had great momentum with them when they went into a match against a babyface.

But what happened when they lost? They lost all the momentum and the whole point of turning them heel went into the gutter.

What is the point of turning into a Bad Guy if you can't win even by doing that? On the other hand, you had Daniel Bryan turn heel and win the title and has generated so much heat as a heel(precisely what he was expected to do).

It is at these crossroads that Dean Ambrose stands. If he doesn't win then all the momentum will go bust and what will be the point of turning heel if he doesn't even get to accomplish the task by doing that?

#3 Drew McIntyre must beat Finn Balor

It's a no-brainer that Finn Balor is an amazing wrestler. And it is also a no-brainer that Finn should get the main event push because he's more than capable of being the main eventer.

But then at the same point of time, without a doubt, we have to say that Drew Mcintyre should be the next face of the company. He has everything and has looked the complete package ever since he has stepped back into the WWE Universe.

Drew McIntyre is by some distance a bigger draw of the two in this match and this feud should push Drew even closer to the main event push which he deserves after slowly and steadily making strides throughout the year.

At this juncture, Drew must win his match against Finn because if it goes the other way it would kill Drew's push altogether which has been in the works for almost a year now.

#4 Daniel Bryan must beat AJ Styles for the WWE Championship

Daniel Bryan has taken the ball from AJ Styles as the WWE Champion and ran with it. He's done a superb job of making the crowd dance to his tunes as he's turned heel and made them turn completely against him.

The "Yes" chants have been replaced by "Fickle" chants and it's been an almost too smooth a transition. He will defend his title for just the first time against AJ Styles and WWE really needs to make sure that it's Daniel Bryan that wins.

He has just won the title, he's legitimately controlled the crowd in a stupendous manner and moreover, this is a feud which can't really go on for long as AJ Styles' contract is almost close to its expiry date and the negotiations have still not been finalized.

Putting the title on AJ, for now, would not be the most sensible thing for WWE.

#5 Becky Lynch must beat Charlotte Flair and Asuka to retain her title

There's just no denying that 2018 has been Becky Lynch's year of reckoning. She's changed herself to become a phenomenon that has taken over WWE and rode her to the top of the WWE ratings.

Her run has even drawn parallels with the character that Stone Cold had and his rise to prominence.

But then, there have been rumours of Charlotte Flair taking the title off Becky Lynch once again at TLC. Now, with all due respect to Charlotte this would not be a good idea because not only would it kill Becky's push but it will also create a situation for Charlotte similar to what Roman Reigns was in where he was forcibly shoved down the throats of the audience and ended up getting booed despite being the face of the company.

With the situation WWE is in right now, it would not want to dissuade its fans yet again and suffer a further fall in ratings which could happen if Becky Innocuously loses the title to Charlotte.
