5 things that Roman Reigns could do when he returns to Raw next week

Roman Reigns returns to RAW!

Many people are now positively looking forward to next week's Monday Night Raw, not because of Ric Flair's 70th Birthday Celebration and the inevitable destruction that Becky Lynch causes, but because 'The Big Dog' Roman Reigns will be appearing live!

Vince McMahon himself announced via Twitter that Reigns was heading to Monday Night Raw to address his ongoing battle with cancer, something that WWE themselves later reiterated with their own announcement.

Whilst the full extent of Reigns' battle with leukemia is unknown, the general feeling surrounding Reigns' prognosis is positive, with the Superstar said to be responding well to treatment. Plus, Reigns recently took part in filming for Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson led 'Hobbs and Shaw' and in recent pictures looks very well and happy!

I don't want to get anybody's hopes up but there's a strong chance that Reign's general outward well-being and physical health, as well as the fact that WWE are advertising the appearance in advance, means that we could very well be hearing some fantastic news from Roman Reigns this coming Monday.

But what are some of the things that me could expect from 'The Big Dog' during his unexpected live appearance on Monday Night Raw?

#1 He could announce he will be returning soon

Roman Reigns could be about to give the WWE Universe some amazing news!
Roman Reigns could be about to give the WWE Universe some amazing news!

I don't want to tempt fate, or get ahead of myself and say there's a chance of Reigns announcing that he's in remission and has beaten leukemia for the second time, but that's obviously the announcement that we're all rooting for!

So, for now I'll stick with the fact that the treatment is going extremely well and that Reigns should be able to return to the ring sooner rather than later, which would be a remarkable story in itself given it was only four months ago that he made the fateful announcement that he'd be taking time off.

Obviously it goes without saying that I only want Reigns to return to active wrestling if he's fit and healthy enough to do so which is why I've not given it a time-frame, like 'back in time for 'Mania', but if he's responding to treatment as well as we've been led to believe there's no reason why, if he wanted to, he couldn't start preparing for a ring return!

#4 He could come face to face with 'The Man'

Will 'The Man' and 'The Big Dog' meet on Raw?
Will 'The Man' and 'The Big Dog' meet on Raw?

Obviously, Reigns' Raw return should be all about his health and his announcement, but whilst he's there I see no reason why WWE couldn't use the opportunity to do some interesting things with 'The Big Dog', especially if it's the good news we're all hoping for!

One of the biggest things I feel you could do with Reigns is having him come face to face with the Superstar who took his place at the top of the roster, the woman who is going to main event WrestleMania 'The Man' Becky Lynch.

Just a simple, short and sweet backstage interaction will suffice, and will almost certainly be one of the bigger moments of any Monday Night Raw! Obviously, it's unlikely to happen given that Lynch is suspended, but with Ric Flair's 70th Birthday Celebration going on, you never know...

#3 He could confront 'The Beast'

Will 'The Beast Incarnate' and 'The Big Dog' have yet another confrontation?
Will 'The Beast Incarnate' and 'The Big Dog' have yet another confrontation?

Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar are perhaps archenemies at this point, given the number of times 'The Big Dog' and 'The Beast Incarnate' have clashed over the WWE Universal Title. Now, partly thanks to Reigns' taking time off it's down to Reigns' close friend, Seth Rollins, to 'slay the Beast'.

But, the story being told could certainly not be hurt by having Reigns come face-to-face with Lesnar and confront him with the fact that he thinks Rollins has what it takes to beat him. Perhaps Reigns can even warn Brock Lesnar that just in case he does manage to hold on to the WWE Universal Title after WrestleMania, that he'll be coming for what was rightfully his.

Obviously I'm not advocating for Lesnar to start F-5ing Reigns all over the place, although I wouldn't put it past Lesnar's actual advocate Paul Heyman to suggest it. But a face-to-face confrontation between these two long-time foes will do wonders to reignite the feud between the two, help build Rollins' 'Mania title match, remind fans of where Reigns was before he left and help to set up Reigns' future when he's back.

#2 He could try and convince Dean Ambrose to stay

Could Roman Reigns stop Dean Ambrose from leaving?
Could Roman Reigns stop Dean Ambrose from leaving?

This is definitely leaning more towards my own fantasy booking than something that could be within the actual realms of possibility, but it stands to reason that Reigns will have seen that his 'brother' Dean Ambrose is going to leave WWE in April and that he'll want to try and prevent it. Plus, Ambrose's departure is already out in the open, why not weaponize it in a storyline?

Now, if this was about the Dean Ambrose from a month ago, Reigns' only interaction with him would be to kick his ass, especially as 'The Lunatic Fringe' didn't shy away from using Reigns' personal health situation to get at Rollins during their feud, but now that Ambrose has had a change of heart, and he's encouraged Rollins to 'slay the Beast' I can see any interaction the two Shield stable members having being amicable.

Plus it makes sense, Reigns could tell Ambrose that he'll be back soon and he wants him and Rollins there when he does. Regardless of what happens though, I'm convinced one of the prevailing shots from WrestleMania will be of the three Shield teammates in the ring together.

#1 He could encourage Seth Rollins and give him advice

Roman Reigns could give Seth Rollins the advice he needs to beat Brock Lesnar
Roman Reigns could give Seth Rollins the advice he needs to beat Brock Lesnar

Seth Rollins has arguably the biggest match of his career ahead of him at WrestleMania when he stands across the ring from 'The Beast Incarnate' who will be the only thing standing in the way of him and the WWE Universal Title.

Someone who knows all about standing across the ring from Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania is Roman Reigns, who also happens to be Rollins' close friend and stable-mate, meaning that a fairly obvious thing for Reigns to do at Raw is to echo Dean Ambrose's sentiments and encourage Rollins to 'slay the Beast'.

Hell, imagine the atmosphere if Reigns was to go as far as to tell Rollins that when he does beat Lesnar, that 'The Big Dog' will be next in line!
