5 Things WWE did right on SmackDown Live (9th April 2019)

#1 The New Day stands tall

Another behemoth invaded Tuesday nights, as Drew McIntyre came out to join The Bar to face off against The New Day in the main event of the night.

Despite his defeat at WrestleMania 35, McIntyre is still one of the most dangerous and intimidating performers on the WWE roster. The match ended with Sheamus eating a pin after Kofi Kingston hit him with a Trouble in Paradise.

This ending served two purposes. Drew McIntyre shouldn't lose in quick succession and thus he was rightfully protected. At the same time, Kofi Kingston was made to look like a credible champion by letting him pin Sheamus to win the match.

To sum it up, The New Day managed to put down a Superstar of the caliber of McIntyre, and that's what the most over Superstars on the blue brand need to do for a while, going forward.
