Money in the Bank is right around the corner and WWE is going to have to do a lot to start building up their momentum again. It's been a relatively weak period of time for the company post-WrestleMania and that's not usually a good sign.
However, PPVs always generate interest and Money in the Bank has gotten an increasing amount of importance over the years, with many fans feeling that it should replace Survivor Series as part of the "Big 4" PPVs.
In a way, it's the 5th biggest PPV of the year and it's one that has a major impact because we tend to know what the direction for the year is based on the outcomes. However, these outcomes are vital because they can make or break the PPV and either help re-generate interest or give fans a reason to lose it completely.
Here are five important things WWE must do at Money in the Bank.
#5. Have Becky Lynch win both matches
2019 saw Becky Lynch get the push of a lifetime when she became the first person to pin Ronda Rousey in WWE and she was the first of three women to headline WrestleMania. She won both titles in the process and has now become Becky 2 Belts.
She faces a daunting task on Sunday when she takes on Lacey Evans for the RAW Women's Championship as well as Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women's title.
While it's quite obvious that she's going to lose one title (most likely the SmackDown one), it would be far better for her to retain both titles. She was smashed through a table by both Evans and Flair on the go-home episode of RAW.
If she were to win both matches, it would raise her stock as double champion even more.
#4. Have Braun Strowman interfere at Money in the Bank
Braun Strowman was taken out of the Money in the Bank ladder match in favour of Sami Zayn. Despite Strowman being the babyface, the general consensus among fans is that Zayn is a far better option for the match and a fresher face as well.
It certainly hasn't been Strowman's year, but that doesn't mean that it's unsalvagable. What's clear is that the match on RAW was just the beginning of his rivalry against Sami Zayn. Expect The Monster Among Men to interfere in the match and wreck havoc in the match - particularly targetting Sami Zayn.
It would certainly be interesting if Zayn went on to win the briefcase anyway, because he could then feud against Strowman up until the summer of 2019 in what would be a reverse of the prior year - where Strowman was defending the MITB briefcase against Kevin Owens.
#3. Have a first-time winner for both matches
The Money in the Bank ladder matches this time around have a very interesting set of competitors. While we were intially reluctant after seeing the RAW side of the women's match, the SmackDown side of things has certainly made up for that.
With Alexa Bliss gone, Carmella remains the only former MITB holder in the Women's match. The Men's match has two former winners in Randy Orton and Baron Corbin.
A no-brainer would be to give the briefcase to a younger star who hasn't won it before. The potential favourites on the SmackDown side are Mandy Rose and Bayley, with the Men's match expected to be won by a RAW superstar - potentially Drew McIntyre (or even Sami Zayn).
The point is that it's time for a new star to shine and giving the MITB briefcase to them would take them to a whole new level.
#2. One unexpected title change
There are a total of six title bouts at Money in the Bank. The Universal Championship, WWE Championship, RAW and SmackDown Women's Championship, Cruiserweight and United States Championship are all on the line.
While a title change or two is definitely expected, WWE should swerve fans with one unexpected one. Kofi Kingston is one superstar who fans most definitely don't want to see lose, so WWE could still pull off a swerve with the other remaining matches.
How crazy would it be if Becky Lynch walked out empty handed? Or what if Seth Rollins' major coronation at WrestleMania 35 halted in a month at the hands of AJ Styles? What if Rey Mysterio jumps back to championship glory?
There are numerous possibilities. Fans aren't always going to be fond of the decisions but they will remember WWE taking them by surprise.
#1. Lars Sullivan interferes and causes a draw in the Universal title match
Lars Sullivan's role in WWE since his debut has essentially just been to come out, wreak havoc and leave. He hasn't really said a word nor has he actively been involved in any storyline.
Despite the fact that he's a SmackDown star, what's clear is that WWE is going out of their way to kill the brand split. So while they're at it, wouldn't it be crazy if the Universal title match had a completely inconclusive finish?
Not only would Sullivan ensure that the match ends in a draw, but he'd immediately interject himself into the Universal Championship picture. He certainly possesses the look of a World Champion and it would be insane if WWE actually made it a triple threat feud and then made Sullivan champion.
But an interference in the main event would certainly stir things up.
