Drew McIntyre faced off against Ricochet on RAW, in a precursor of what could happen at Crown Jewel when McIntyre represents Team Flair and Ricochet represents Team Hogan in a ten-man tag team match.

Hogan and Flair were ringside during the match, and the former was not impressed by the actions of McIntyre. McIntyre and Ricochet put on a good match, which ended when Randy Orton - part of Team Flair - RKO'd Ricochet. During the match, McIntyre came face-to-face with Hogan, after mocking the WWE Hall of Famer in the ring, imitating Hogan's trademark poses.

McIntyre also had a few words to say to Hogan following the match. This sets up a possible angle during the match at Crown Jewel where Hogan attacks McIntyre and helps his team secure the win.

Rusev, Ricochet, Roman Reigns, Ali, and Shorty G are part of Team Hogan, while Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Lashley, and King Corbin are part of Team Flair.
