John Cena has been the top guy of the WWE for over a decade. However, when Roman Reigns made his debut on the main roster, the company saw the future in him. From 2015 onwards, WWE has shown a lot of faith in the Samoan by giving him multiple WrestleMania main events and also putting him over against Triple H at WrestleMania 32 for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

In 2017, after the superstar shake-up, John Cena was categorized as a free agent and was eligible to wrestle both on Raw and SmackDown. As mentioned on the previous slide, Cena and Reigns started a feud in September of 2017. Both superstars had a war of words on an edition of Monday Night Raw in September 2017.

No Mercy was the day to walk the talk for both superstars. Cena and Reigns both went hard at each other. During the match, Reigns attempted a running cross body on Cena, He was caught mid-air and got hit by an Attitude Adjusment.
