Roman Reigns is now under the limelight thanks to the Wellness Policy violation that got him suspended for one month. The suspension is indeed going to be a black mark in the career of Reigns and could haunt him in the journey forward. With all the negativity surrounding him, it wouldn’t be a good thing to pile up and add insult to injury.
Instead, let’s send out some positive vibes by taking a look at the good things about Reigns. And one among that list is his vicious spear. The move has been a stand out in his weapons list and when combined with the barricade, it can be pretty deadly. In this list, we are going to list down some of Reigns’ spears through the barricade.
Big Show
Big Show has been in WWE for a long time. He has worked with many big names in the business. While he was considered as main event talent on some occasions during his career, most of the time, Big Show was intelligently used by WWE to put over younger talent.
The recent years have been no different. Big Show has locked horns with Roman Reigns on numerous occasions as well and one of those occasions resulted in this spear through the barricade.
The fact that Big Show is so huge made the impact of the spear even better than usual. The way in which the barricades crushed under the weight of Show was a great sight as well.
Goldust
The pairing of Cody Rhodes and Goldust was an exciting one. The duo had a strong run in the WWE as a tag team and the most memorable storyline involving them perhaps would be their feud against the Authority. The Authority decided to put the contracts of Goldust and Cody on the line with Shield as the main villains.
The feud between these two teams gave us a lot of matches and one among it was the tag team title match on October 14, 2013, edition of Raw. It was a solid match and at one point, Goldust was taken through the barricade by Reigns and his spear.
Kane
The 2012 edition of TLC saw a six-man tag team match involving Shield, Team Hell No and Ryback. WWE built up the match from the first appearance of Shield itself and at the time of TLC, the match was hyped as a big deal and rightfully so. It was a Tables, Ladder and chair match and was the first major platform for all members of Shield to showcase their talent.
They did just that when they put together a great match that announced the arrival of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose. One of the memorable spots from the match was the spear that Reigns delivered to Kane. Kane was blasted through the barricade and it makes it to the list.
Mark Henry
At this point, one might’ve noticed that most of the superstars in this list are veterans. It is an interesting pattern but at the same time, it also shows how strong Roman has been booked throughout the past few years. Mark Henry, just like we saw with Big Show, is a long-term employee of the WWE. He has locked horns with numerous superstars in the past and has put over many youngsters as well.
Similarly, the size of Mark Henry is an add on to the overall effect of the move. Reigns almost performs a complete circle around the ring before delivering the spear as well.
Undertaker
Undertaker crossing paths with the Shield was always a dream scenario after the hounds of justice debuted on WWE television. Although brief, this scenario did happen after WrestleMania 29.
Undertaker was fresh off his feud with CM Punk and wanted to pay respects to the late Paul Bearer. He was interrupted by the Shield during segment and Undertaker got backup from Team Hell No.
This later morphed into a chaotic situation and at one point, Reigns went on to perform his vicious spear. Undertaker was the victim during this instance and it was not a good scene to see the Deadman go through the barricade especially at this age.
