#3 Seth Rollins vs. Baron Corbin (WWE Stomping Grounds 2019)
In the summer of 2019, the unpopular duo of Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans joined forces to target Seth Rollins’ WWE Universal Championship and Becky Lynch’s WWE RAW Women’s Championship.
The main event of the WWE Stomping Grounds pay-per-view saw Rollins defend his title against Corbin, with Evans – Lynch’s opponent earlier in the night – being revealed as the special guest referee moments before the match.
Not only did the WWE Universe chant “Boring!” during the 18-minute encounter, but they let their voices be heard by also chanting “This is stupid!”, “AEW!”, “Daniel Bryan!”, and “CM Punk!”.
Unlike some of the other matches in this article, the main event got back on track when Lynch appeared and attacked Evans.
Rollins went on to defeat Corbin before aligning with Lynch for the first time on WWE television.
The storyline development resulted in Rollins and Lynch defeating Corbin and Evans in a tag team match three weeks later at the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
Brock Lesnar then appeared and successfully cashed in his WWE Money in the Bank contract on Rollins.
