5 Times WWE 'Wrestler's Court' punished WWE Superstars

WWE is the biggest wrestling promotion in the world.

As a result, the wrestling company has the largest roster of Superstars in the world.

With so many high profile wrestlers all working together, tempers can obviously flare. There can be issues and misunderstandings between two or more Superstars. It is not possible for WWE management to interfere in each case and it is left to the wrestlers to sort out their differences by themselves.

During such times, the locker room leaders take it upon themselves to be the judge and mete out a decision which will see the problem handled.

In many cases, it was The Undertaker who was the person handing out decisions as he was the recognised locker room leader for most of his WWE tenure. In other cases, it was Triple H, and most recently, it was Roman Reigns.

In this article, we are going to talk about 5 times that the 'Wrestler's Court' as it became popularly known, punished WWE Superstars.

#5 'Spiritless' Spirit Squad

The Spirit Squad found themselves on the receiving end of a huge, and according to some people, undeserving, push.

Johnny Jeter, only known as Johnny on the Spirit Squad run, was also among these stars. In fact, he was set up for a tag team, where he would team with another member. During their run, they would even become Tag Team Champions.

However, towards the beginning of his career, Johnny did not appreciate being made a part of a tag team. He wanted a singles run, and was vocal about his feelings backstage. Senior WWE Superstars often did not take any airs from new rookies, so when what he was saying got around to them, they did not take too kindly to the news.

He was brought up in front of the Wrestler's Court, and The Undertaker presided over the arguments. He was thought to be disrespectful of tag teams and senior wrestlers. The judgement was made, and he was asked to see old tag-team videos so that he could learn respect for that form of wrestling, as well as buying beer for JBL -- a tag team legend along with Ron Simmons if there ever was one.

#4 The Miz and Chris Benoit

When The Miz arrived in WWE, he was not seen as a person who had earned his stripes. A reality television show star, he was not all well liked backstage. Most of the wrestlers felt that he had no talent, and would not be able to cut it in WWE.

However, Miz admitted that there was one wrestler who helped him in the beginning days, and that was Chris Benoit. He was always teaching The Miz new things and helping him to fit in.

So, when the Miz was dragged up in front of the Wrestler's Court for something he had done, he was surprised that it was Chris Benoit who he had wronged. He had eaten chicken and dropped crumbs all over Chris Benoit's bag. This was seen as a sign of disrespect, and although Benoit later apologized to The Miz, saying he had to do it to make sure that traditions were respected, The Miz was forced out of the locker room.

For 6 months, The Miz had to change into his wrestling gear in the bathroom.

#3 Bill Goldberg and Chris Jericho

When Bill Goldberg came to WWE after his WCW run, he was portrayed as an indomitable wrestler for a large part of his time.

However, backstage, feelings were different. There was one wrestler with whom he had a lot of issues from his WCW days. Chris Jericho and Goldberg had never been friends with each other during their WCW days, and the feelings extended to WWE.

Jericho was heard to be trash-talking Goldberg to other wrestlers by the master of the Jackhammer. He did not take it well and confronted him, getting into a fight with him. Jericho came out better in that fight, and actually beat him and held him down.

Goldberg was furious and took Jericho to Wrestle Court. However, presiding was another wrestler who was not too fond of Goldberg -- Triple H.

He ruled in favor of Jericho and forced Goldberg to admit in front of everyone that Jericho was a better wrestler than him.

#2 Roman Reigns and Enzo Amore

A more recent story, this one was not a proper session by the Wrestler's Court, but more of an impromptu decision by the locker room leader to punish an offender of locker room etiquette.

During his time in WWE, Enzo Amore was anything except respectful. Known for being loud, and extremely brash and abrasive in his behavior, he had managed to turn the entire locker room against him.

He was seen as an embarrassment to other wrestlers.

In the WWE tour bus, one such time when he was boasting about how much money he was making loudly over the phone so that everyone could hear, Roman Reigns had enough.

He asked Enzo Amore to stand up and then get out of the bus. Amore was thrown out of the bus and was forced to arrange his own transport. This was a popular decision among the other wrestlers, and one of the only times in recent times that almost every wrestler unanimously disliked a fellow WWE Superstar.

#1 Muhammad Hassan and Eddie Guerrero

Muhammad Hassan is often known for being a victim of circumstances. His gimmick came at an unfortunate time, and as a result, his career suffered.

But even other than that, during his short tenure in WWE, he was not liked in the locker room. He was brought up in front of Wrestler's Court twice.

The first time was when he no-sold during his match with Sergeant Slaughter, a respected and well-loved WWE veteran. Hassan's argument was that he was told to no-sell by a producer.

For the second one, however, he had no defence.

Hassan asked Eddie Guerrero to not use the Camel Clutch in the ring, as it was Hassan's finishing move. Guerrero taught Hassan that it had been his father, Gory Guerrero, who had come up with the move in the first place.

This was seen as an immense disrespect to Guerrero, and Hassan was taken to Wrestler's Court once again. For the remainder of his time in WWE, he was hated by most of the WWE locker room. As a punishment for his latter offense, he had to pick up the entire locker room's $4,000 tab in the bar.
