The debut episode of Friday Night SmackDown on Fox on October 4, 2019, was headlined by a WWE Championship match between Kofi Kingston and Brock Lesnar. The episode was the 20th anniversary of SmackDown and marked WWE's return to the network for the first time since 1992.

Kofi Kingston was very successful in 2019, winning the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 35 against Daniel Bryan. Heading into his clash with Lesnar, The New Member had held the belt for 180 days.

This was The Beast Incarnate's first match on SmackDown in 15 years. Immediately after the bell rang Kingston ran towards Lesnar and leaped at him. The Champion was caught in mid-air by The Beast Incarnate, who then delivered a crushing F5 and pinned Kofi to win the WWE Title in under 10 seconds. The sold-out crowd was left stunned.

The Friday Night SmackDown's debut episode on FOX ended with one of the most dominant Championship displays in WWE history.
