5 Top WWE Stars That Deserve a Match at WrestleMania (But Might Not Get One)

The WWE is just a day away from the final event before WrestleMania 35 in New York, and although the biggest matches on the card have already been announced, there is still quite a lot we don't know about this years big show. There have been rumors around in the last few days that WrestleMania will feature at least 16 matches, but not all of them can be important, and unfortunately, that means a lot of top performers will be relegated to the pre-show.

You'd think that with 16 matches on a card (likely to be 11-12 on the main show and 4-5 on the pre-show), everyone could get on the main card, but with only a limited amount of time, they need to choose these matches carefully. With that in mind, we are going to take a look at 5 of those unfortunate top stars who will be missing out on a WrestleMania match in a months time (missing out on a WrestleMania match meaning the main show, as all of these people will likely feature on the pre-show).

#5 Elias

Elias is one of the most charismatic and entertaining performers the WWE have got to offer, but for some reason, he's still relegated to comedy roles with no significant rivalry to sink his teeth into. He's got the potential to be a main event heel in the WWE one day, as his act is consistently entertaining, but for some reason, the WWE just don't know exactly what to do with him, like many others on the current main roster.

At WrestleMania, he could conceivably take part in a segment, similar to his moment at WrestleMania 34 with John Cena, but at this point, it's almost a certainty that Elias isn't on the main WrestleMania card, and that's definitely wrong.

#4 Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens just returned to the WWE after a several month absence, and was given a WWE Championship match at Fastlane, but he most likely isn't going to have anything decent to do after that. Unless the WWE throw us a big curveball at Fastlane, Daniel Bryan will come out on top and set up a bout with Kofi Kingston at WrestleMania, but that leaves KO without a significant opponent in New York.

The Prizefighter is performing as a babyface for the first time in his WWE career, so a potential bout with Samoa Joe would be incredible, but after winning the United States title, it seems Joe's on a collision course with John Cena. The WWE would have been quite wise to hold KO's return until after WrestleMania, giving him a significant story upon return, but now, he looks like he'll just be a pawn in the story of #KofiMania.

#3 Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre is in the midst of his second run with the WWE, and after tearing through the NXT division, he came to the main roster as a big star, and it's clear that management see him as a main event player for years to come. Unfortunately, due to Seth Rollins being the one to challenge the Beast, it seems that the WWE have nothing for Drew at this point, but an ATGMBR victory could give him the kick-start he needs to finally get to the top of the WWE mountain.

Finn Balor doesn't have an opponent for the Intercontinental Championship on the Grandest Stage, so the Scottish Psychopath would be a great option, but we don't know how the WWE want to handle that title. It would be a shock if Drew didn't main event WrestleMania sometime over the next 3-4 years, but for right now, it looks like he may not get a big match in New York.

#2 Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss has been an incredibly important part of the women's division since the brand split back in 2016, winning multiple titles on both shows. But with the introduction of Ronda Rousey, she has fallen down the pecking order. Bliss has still been a prominent figure on TV with her 'Moment of Bliss' segment, and it's kept her on our screens and in our minds, but with the big women's match at WrestleMania involving Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Ronda Rousey, Bliss just isn't that important.

With the women's Battle Royal being started a year ago, it's very likely that Alexa competes in the bout, which will take place on the pre-show, but someone as good as Bliss deserves more. Sure, you can't always be in the main event or the biggest stories, especially with the depth of talent that the WWE currently have in the women's division, but Bliss certainly deserves to play a much more important role at WrestleMania 35.

#1 Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman has been one of WWE's top stars over the past year, but in the last few months, his booking has been quite strange, and he's losing his standing within the company. The Monster Among Men is still one of the most important stars on RAW, but with the return of Roman Reigns, it seems that he isn't as important as we all once thought.

Last year at WrestleMania, Braun competed in a very odd tag team bout against The Bar with 'Nicholas', and this year, it seems the company isn't going to be able to find something for him yet again. There's still time to build, but with all the singles bouts and Championship matches seemingly coming together, Strowman is likely going to be relegated to the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, and that definitely gives credence to the idea of him being lazy backstage, because they've put quite a lot of time into building him up as a star.
