5 Total Divas break-ups that played out on TV

The Total Divas reality series gives WWE fans a glimpse at how the company’s female Superstars live their lives away from the WWE spotlight.

Originally, Total Divas had seven cast members when the show debuted in 2013 (Brie Bella, Cameron, Eva Marie, JoJo Offerman, Naomi, Natalya and Nikki Bella), and another 13 women from WWE have joined the series as cast members since then.

Many Total Divas episodes revolve around backstage dramas between Superstars, but the show also delves into the real-life relationships involving WWE’s women.

Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan’s marriage featured heavily on Total Divas before The Bellas received their own Total Bellas reality series in 2016, while Naomi has appeared alongside her husband – fellow WWE Superstar Jimmy Uso – in almost every season of Total Divas.

Unfortunately, for every happy marriage that has been showcased on Total Divas, E! cameras have also captured moments when members of WWE's women's division have broken up with their partners.

In this article, let’s take a look at five Total Divas break-ups that played out on television.

#5 Paige’s break-up with Bradley featured on Total Divas

A lot of episodes in the third season of Total Divas focused on Paige’s relationship with the lead singer of rock band Emarosa, Bradley Walden.

One of the most memorable Total Divas scenes involving Paige and Bradley came on March 8, 2015 when the two-time Divas Champion shared a car with her new boyfriend’s mother and sister.

After Paige jokingly sent a video to Bradley’s mother saying they were going to get married, Bradley’s sister revealed that her brother had already been married once before. Paige, who was unaware of her partner’s previous marriage, said she was “fuming” but she did not want to cause a fuss in front of his family.

Once they arrived at Bradley’s family home, Paige had a big argument with her boyfriend, who said he did not want to move in with her.

At the start of the next season, Paige told her fellow Total Divas cast members that Bradley sent her a text to let her know he did not want a relationship.

“He actually broke up with me via text message. He’s basically a huge, little baby. I finally got into a relationship after I didn’t want to be in one. He just, like, didn’t feel connected. Why did you say ‘I love you’, then?”

Paige joked after making that comment that all guys “s**k” and they should raise their hands and slap themselves in the face.

#4 JoJo Offerman’s break-up with Justin Gabriel featured on Total Divas

Before JoJo Offerman became involved in a relationship with Bray Wyatt, she dated another WWE Superstar – former Nexus member Justin Gabriel – in the first season of Total Divas.

The relationship did not feature much on Total Divas, with couples including Nikki Bella & John Cena and Brie Bella & Daniel Bryan receiving more television time. The standout scene from JoJo’s one and only season on the show came when she was dumped by Gabriel due to their 11-year age gap.

This led to a scene in a hotel room where Eva Marie tried to make sense of the situation.

“I just think he completely played with your emotions and made you like him more than [you would have originally]. I just think it’s so bizarre because when he pursued you, he knew how old you were [19]. So then why, all of a sudden, is it like, hmm, wait, maybe not?”

When JoJo said she could not believe Gabriel had decided to call things off with her, Eva advised her to stay professional at work and not let him know that he has bothered her.

Gabriel clarified in a 2017 interview on the Pancakes and Powerslams podcast that he was told by Total Divas producers to break up with JoJo in front of the cameras.

He was happy for their relationship to be shown on television but, after being portrayed as a “super womanizing heel”, he felt as though the people who edit Total Divas made him look like a bad guy.

#3 Alicia Fox’s relationship ended on Total Divas

Alicia Fox dated former WWE Superstar Wade Barrett before she began appearing on Total Divas, but the two still appeared in some scenes together on the show to discuss their two-year relationship.

Another relationship drama involving Fox took place on the fifth season of Total Divas when she had suspicions about her new boyfriend, Darryl Welch, and his age.

After doing some background checks, Fox confronted Darryl at his house and revealed that she found out he was 50 years old – 21 years older than her. Darryl did not think it was a big deal, even though Fox thought he was 45.

The former WWE Divas Champion did not appreciate Darryl’s lie and decided to take her microphone off and leave his house.

“This is disgusting to me. It’s disgusting. You’re a liar. How am I supposed to believe that you’re really not dating an ex-girlfriend? I’m going home because I’m done with you. I need this mic off.”

Fox then handed her microphone to a Total Divas producer and drove away.

#2 Paige’s break-up with Kevin featured on Total Divas

Kevin Skaff, the lead guitarist in A Day to Remember, lived with Paige while she was a cast member on the fifth season of Total Divas.

Although Paige wanted to make the relationship work, she told Alicia Fox on the March 1, 2016, episode of Total Divas that she had been arguing with Kevin and she wanted him to leave their house for a couple of days when her mother visited.

It was revealed on the next Total Divas episode that Paige told Kevin one day before their one-year anniversary that she wanted to break up.

“The relationship ended more positively than I thought it was going to, but it still kind of s**ks. I am really bummed about it and I do feel terrible for Kevin, but right now I’m just going to focus on me. I just can’t deal with love right now. Maybe I should just give up on guys for a little bit.”

Kevin and Paige were even engaged at one stage, but Paige called off the engagement when she revealed that she only said yes to Kevin because she was afraid of losing him if she rejected his proposal.

#1 Nikki Bella and John Cena’s break-up featured on Total Divas

Nikki Bella and Brie Bella’s lives outside of WWE have been the focus of Total Bellas since 2016, but the former Divas Champions still make appearances on Total Divas.

In 2018, Nikki’s break-up with John Cena made headlines around the world. During that time, she had to deal with paparazzi taking pictures of her everywhere she went, including when she enjoyed a trip to Miami with some of her Total Divas colleagues.

“It’s the last day in Miami and, of course, there’s so many paparazzi downstairs now, like they have multiplied [since the John Cena break-up], but I’m not letting it over-affect me. We have this hot hired bartender, so I thought it would be really funny to flirt with him, you know, to start some rumors.”

Nikki’s antics, which you can see in the video above, certainly worked. The Daily Mail published pictures of her with the bartender, describing him as her “mystery man”, and TMZ reported that the scene in Miami was “a prank gone wrong”.
