Riddle was able to qualify for WWE's Money in the Bank ladder match a few weeks ago on RAW. Later that same night, he inadvertently cost his friend Randy Orton his place in the match.
The following week, Riddle failed to qualify for the match on Orton's behalf, and The Viper has now been missing from WWE TV for several weeks.
Orton was seemingly annoyed with Riddle following his loss a few weeks ago and hasn't been seen since. It's entirely feasible that Orton could return to WWE TV this weekend and ask to take Riddle's place in the match.
Orton is a former 14-time world champion and definitely doesn't need the Money in the Bank contract to earn a world championship shot. That being said, Riddle could hand over his place in the match to Orton since he recently stated that he would "do anything" to get The Viper back.
