Chris Jericho may have invented the Money in the Bank concept, but it was Edge who won the very first edition.
While this is an extremely weird scenario, did we ever think when WWE was going gung-ho with Otis and giving him a major singles push, that he would be stripped of the Money in the Bank contract and would then lose to The Miz?
Look who just shut down all of Tony Khan's critics! More HERE.
The Miz may just be a transitional Money in the Bank contract winner, who could hold it until Edge comes back and wins it from him.
Even though The Miz holds a lot more 'legitimacy' so to speak, as compared to someone like Otis with regard to being the face of the company, someone like Edge really belongs in the title picture a lot more, at this point in time.
You can tell just how much the company believes in The Miz from the fact that he was squashed by Drew McIntyre the very night after he became Mr. Money in the Bank.
